Neither mentions who shot the missle was it FF or an Iraqi attack. The minefield bit would have been the worse.

It was an Iraqi attack. There are photos lifted from a video shot by the terrorists. I first read about this in the Australia Flight Saftey magazine. You can view the article HERE or download the entire magazine HERE.

What sort of missle was it? Was it a heat seeking missle of somesort? Id have though that with a 2 engines running max on take off not very high would have provided a big heat signature for the missle, how did it miss and hit the wing. Very very lucky for the crew.
