Hatchetforce
Again, cool pics HF. How are these mainly employed, or larger platforms like the M82 or M2 right? ← NYR 32 is correct. These are thermal sights. The larger of the 2, the (V)2 sight, is mainly employed on crewserved weapons. We use them on the M2, MK19, the GE minigun, and the new grenade launcher. The smaller of the two, the (V)1, is designed for the M4, M16, SPR, and M136. In the desert at night, you can only see a short distance with NVGs. The thermal is king with view distances out past 10 clicks. You can't make out detail at that distance, but you can see movement with the PAS-13 Heavy. EricJ
There was a soldier I used to go out patrolling with, and he had to mount the PAS-13 (V)1 on his M4. Hehe, you don't misplace things after throwing that monster on there..... But I had it on an M2 one time on guard. It's a nice, clear system, and the zoom isn't too bad either. EricJ
Got the number wrong, maybe (v)3, because it wasn't small. It's the third one in the original set of pictures that we use.
