CR6 0
Your screenshot looks OK to me. I know this sounds funny, but did you reboot your computer yet? Also, did the computer store install WinXP from your own CD?
GRT 0
I had this problem after i got a new motherboard. I left it count down the days it said to activate although it already kept saying it was activated and the last day it turned off my pc and whenever i turned my pc back on the next day it would only go to the windows XP loading screen and would NEVER goto the desktop. I found out it was my XP causing it. Because my PC is a gateway so when i installed a new motherboard the gateway version XP didnt think my pc was a gateway so it wouldnt activate it. I had to buy a new XP cd that was made from microsoft not a gateway version. What you could do is(some pc shops have a week warrenty where if its not working you can take it back) take it back to the PC shop people and tell them that the activation isnt working. Ask if they could try and install XP from one of their XP cds which should work. EDIT: oh make of backup of your stuff before you do that^...when i went to the pc shop and they reinstalled their XP..it wiped everything out and i forgot to backup everything before taking it over there. Specter 0
Is it the home or pro version of XP? PM me. I may be able to help you. It sounds like they didn't format the drive, that they just reinstalled it over the previous install without formatting, so it's holding the old registry info from the old motherboard, and it sees that the new one is different, hence the problem. It sucks when these idiot so called professional shops don't do a professional job. PM me, and we will see if we can take care of this. "
