My Photoshop recognizes the RSB plugin from The Island Thunder disk and gives RSB files as one of the types you can open. But when I try I get a pop-up saying it "cannot parse the file."

I used to use it before I reinstalled everything, so it worked before

Any ideas?

have you used the rsb conversion program? i think it basically gets rid of the read only check box on all the rsbs in a folder. always works for me after i use it. but sometimes i would get it every now and then on a file that i just opened and closed and then reopened, if you catch my meaning here.

Could also be alittle depending on what .rsb files it is that you are trying to open. From what I have heared, not had it happen to me though, even a correctly configured photoshop with the right plugin can sometimes refuse to open some .rsb's.

This is true. Haven't had it happen to me (sounds like the start of an urban legend) but guy I know had it happen to him.

Before uninstalling anything, try going to start, run regedit. In your registry, type rsb under edit/find, and delete all references to rsb that come up. I'd then suggest using rsb editor to open rsb file, leave as default project when screen pops up. Then go to to folder of rsb file you want o open, right click, pick browse for program to open, navigate to rsb editor exe and select it. Leave rsb editor as default for opening rsb files, photoshop will still be open to open them with plugin. I found this to work for the rsb editor when I moved it to a different program folder. If you used rsb plugin before with photoshop then later deleted both and have since reinstalled, it might help to have all old references cleared out. They will write themselves again in the registry.

Budgie, yes there is, they used to have it in the tools downloads but don't anymore. I used it many times as I was able to skin using microsoft picture it, that came with windows, saved the rsb coverted to bmp as targa, used mike shell's texture swap utility to assign targa file to chr model, fired up game, game rewrote targa file as rsb file then I just redid the chr file to point towards new rsb file. It wouldn't work on IT rsb files however as they were in a different format. Try a google search, I think the gent's last name was Lewis that made it. If I find it , I'll send you a PM.

now you know two  I had that problem too budgie. I tired a few things to get around it. I'd use a different .rsb pluggin or use the .rsb<-->.bmp converter (should be in the donwload section) If that didn't work, I would just give up. Oh, and sometimes the size of the image made a difference. I could sometimes only save stuff that were a scale of 1024*1024. good luck! :)

if you can't find the converter, I think i might still have it somewhere. I can send it to you.
