2nd Ranger
We need some avatars, y'all. I'd forgotten all about them until I saw Jex's the other day. You just put your information and the picture name into an XML file, then host it somewhere. Anyone got any webspace we could perhaps use for that? I have a file ready I will put up for download soon. Edited December 17, 2004 by 2nd Ranger
T_1
Where does this appear in game? and how big is the pic files. I could host a few if needed, or perhaps we could borrow some space
2nd Ranger
They appear on the side of vehicles as in the picture, and can also appear on flags. It's not just a picture file though, it has to be hosted as a webpage. I am playing around with the file right now, have to make sure everything is in order, then I will send it. 2nd Ranger
I can get it working, but my picture won't show for some reason. I put my squad down as 'Alpha Black', which shows up on vehicles. Edited December 18, 2004 by 2nd Ranger
CrowmanUK
make sure its a .jpg file not a .jpeg theres a good tutorial here http://www.ofpec.com/editors/browse.php?br...ng=logo&x=0&y=0 Edited December 18, 2004 by CrowmanUK
2nd Ranger
That's precisely the one I used, and the file is a .jpg.
CrowmanUK
If you changed the name of the logo.jpg did you change it in the squad.xml file too?
2nd Ranger
Yep. May be a problem elsewhere though. when I view my XMl file it says "Error loading stylesheet: Parsing an XSLT stylesheet failed."
CrowmanUK
did you upload all 5 files like it shows you in the manual? I've got 5 files uploaded to RSi and it works fine over there
2nd Ranger
I count four files - Squad.XML, logo.jpg, squad.XSL, squad.dtd
CrowmanUK
my mistake mate it was 4, I was looking at the manual.txt file too oops. I just modified the files as needed then uploaded em, worked ok this end. try overwriting them again, one might have got screwed on the transfer, I'm clutching at straws, you can probably tell
2nd Ranger
What does your xml file look like when you view it?
CrowmanUK
like this before I edited it
2nd Ranger
I mean when it's hosted. Also, the XSL file says "This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below." 2nd Ranger
Hahah, sorry, I actually meant what does the file itself look like when you open it up on the web. Does it look just like it does when you're editing it?
2nd Ranger
Okay, never mind. It's working now. I don't know what I did, but it's working. Sorry about all that. Thanks for trying to help.
