WP33
Not feeling the love for the rifleman model, so I switched it up and am going to use this, which I think looks much much better Now, onto the demo and support guys. Also am awaiting Argyll's character so I can perhaps use that and his guys from SOF as specialists.
callmehobbes
I love the skin/camo but feel it would lokk better on some less "heavy" chrs. How about the IT rifleman or maybe some of Bjb's models. That would really modernize it. I still think the US should have picked this camo! WP33
I have decided the MultiCam is going to stay the same tone and hue for all maps. I was testing it tonight in several environments (yeah, sure I was testing- really just an excuse for a buddy and I to play some co-op maps... ) and it's looking good in urban, desert, jungle and woodland maps. It may not be the best camo for any one environment, but like its real-life counterpart, it does the job in most environments. More to follow. WP33
Update: Well looks like this will be my last project for Ghost (funny, since it was really only my second public one, not counting some little minis and things here and there I did for some guys), and as such, I plan on going out with a bang. I've gotten the rifleman, support, demo and sniper done, and I'm now doing the specialists in Argyll's SOF models with his blessing. I'm still waiting on those characters he was showing further up in the thread, but he's gotta be busy, so no big deal. I'm also going to revisit the ACU camo I did in an early mod, which budgie opened my eyes to. I might do either a seperate mod there or try and do a switcher, like Nishii did for his SEAL/Delta mod. To be included as well is going to be a set of faces in a redone camo and perhaps some without headstraps and no camo. We'll see about that last one. I also have been working on some character models of my own, so we'll try and get those out and about. This is going to kind of be the equivalent of cleaning out the closet and pulling out some stuff I was working on and combining them into one push. I'll keep ya guys posted over the next week. Suicide Commando
Why are you quiting GR modding?
WP33
Well, SC, I'm not qutting so much as am more likely probably going to be tied up with VBS1 in a couple weeks! I still have some obligations to finish, like the GRCE you and I are a part of (to which I have no problems bequeathing my work to), but it's more a redirection of effort- I'd say you can look at it that way. I'm definitely not stepping away from the community; you guys have been way too good to and for me for that.
WP33
Demo Support Reskinned Argyll's SOF guys. I also took the liberty of fixing the little problem of the same faces showing up for all the guys Your friendly skin modder...

WP33
From another thread, I was working on some character models. I've come along so far, and this is the result. They're not complete by any means. This is just for you guys to get an idea of what I'm doing. For some reason I'm having problems getting the goggles to work correctly. It keeps wanting to put a texture on it I don't want. Can someone lend me a hand and tell me what I'm doing wrong? I realize this is all a bit rough, but hey, I'm just learning 3dsm, so be gentle... Jaxe
You need to put a texture on the goggles_shield like the standard "character_trans" (atleast a rsb file with an alpha channel). not the goggles from a "normal body" In max it will show-up like the pic from you but in Gr it shows up nice. ps. Your models are great Jaxe

Suicide Commando
Nice model WP. Seems like the mic needs a better texture though, maybe it's just me.

WP33
Got the character in-game. Here we go... Still need to mess around with some stuff, but it's damn close to what I want. Edited December 29, 2004 by WP33
Jaxe
Looks good there WP You might add a strap which holds the goggles.

Pingvinx
Good CHR.. I just wonder.. Why didnt you put the flag on the middle of the chest? I see that the us Spec ops always got their flag on the middle.. Perhaps its just me

I see that the us Spec ops always got their flag on the middle.. Perhaps its just me ← Argyll gave me the texture, to be honest. But, I have seen it applied several locations on the chest- upper left, middle. It's typically just a velcro patch. in this case though, since the game models join the torso texture in the middle, I think it's in a good spot to keep from getting too distorted. WP33
Got another one here that I did yesterday afternoon. This is getting fun! Don't worry, I'm fixing the helmet strap texture. It wrapped strangely. In game: Edited December 30, 2004 by WP33
WP33
Little bit more. Just got bored and was messing around this afternoon... I'll have to play with textures on the vest to account for a couple things, but I like it. It's basically just the Marine rifleman from IT, mesh-smoothed (listen to me, sounding like a real modder!) and with a helmet mounted on it, so no real input from me.
