Urban_Tiger 0
K...... Had the game working fine for months with Win ME with barely any undue problems to speak of. I Make my own mods for GR and qualified a long time ago as a network admin for Win 98 and ME so know them very well and how to sort problems on them......The problem now......... I have just finally changed to XP (which I really didn;t want to do lol, and still wish I hadn;t now rofl) and now my Logitech Cordless Optical wheel mouse won't operate the zoom properly but only within GR itself, it's fine in other apps and on the desktop etc!! It has like a huge delay before it zooms on the wheel and even then it's not zooming smoothly in and out!! Has this been a problem for others using XP or has anyone heard of it?? If so is there a fix for it that someone knows of please? I have the latest drivers for the device and everything is in order system wise.......Any clues out there cos it's driving me nuts and ruining my favourite game !! Sys info if it helps is: Gigabyte GA-7VAXP board Athlon XP 2400+ cpu Asus Ti4200 128mb agp x8 S/Blaster Audigy Maxtors 120gb and 40gb H/D's 1gb DDR Logitech Cordless Optical Keyboard and mouse. Other periphials still going in but not in yet lol!! All of these worked fine with Win ME and this issue didn't manifest itself at all!! *Prays someone else has seen it and knows a fix now*
Velocity 0
I had this problem a while ago. I have a Logitech Dual Optical Mouse and occasionally ingame the zooming would go all to-pot. It would zoom in and out dramatically fast and then a minute later would do the exact opposite and i'd get a 2 second delay for it to zoom. I went to the mouse properties/setting and then to the buttons tab. I changed the scrolling size of the wheel to 1 line and assigned the button as a web wheel. The universal scroll, vertical scroll bar and autoscroll assignments messed it up ingame. Web wheel worked fine however. Its worth a shot Velo
Cobblers 12
Yeah I did the same and it worked for me too Velocity. Logitech do make great mice I must admit. Have any of you heard of this problem? I'm trying to set up the fourth button on my Logitech mouse to act as my TS activate button. But it doesn't seem to want to work! I've switched the keys around so that they don't conflict with GR but are set-up right for TS but I get no joy at all! Any ideas? Or have you tried this yourself before? Any help would be great! Well I had the same problems in GR that I couldn't get it to work. So I thought I would dl the latest drivers for this mouse, I did this to try and solve the problem as stated above. But low and behold, once I dl these latest drivers the mouse, yes that thumb button, will now work in GR. Try it, if it's similar to mine then you too should be able to use it now in GR, it will if anything make a good map button key or the reload button key!! Do I get the sig if it works??? Guest TheJunglist.
Hey Urban. Had the same problem wiht my IBM stealth 5 button mouse. what worked for was was using the logitech NT drivers. since my OS (win 2k) is built on the same kernel the drivers worked for me. i think they should work for u too as XP uses Nt kernel also i believe. worth a try. drivers from logitechs website. also try messing with the assume wheel is present setting in the control panel under your mouse driver. Cobblers 12
Yep, after downloading the latest drivers for my mouse it suddenly worked in game?! But as I said, it won't work with TS, which would be more useful to me tbh. Oh well back to the drawing board!

Urban_Tiger 0
Thanx for all the replies folks. Still no joy with the drivers in, but if I remove them it all operates fine, it just means I can't program the thumb and wheel buttons as you normally would with the Logitech software. Strangely enough tho, WITHOUT the Logitech drivers and Mouseware installed I can assign the thumb button to any function in GR itself and it also works with TS and other apps that I can assign a task to it as well rofl!!! I know it's not the system for definite too, I decided to use a dual boot on top of Win XP using WinME on the Secondary H/D and installed everything there too to test whether it was system or OS. Low and behold it's absolutely fine under WinME with the drivers installed and so is everything else rofl. I am in touch with Logitechs Support and at first they took the immediate sloping shoulders stance as many might expect lol, but another mail later and they are now listening hehehehe ! Will let anyone interested know what they have to say later or any solutions they may offer as it certainly looks like there is an issue with the drivers and Logitech Mouseware whilst under Win XP ! Urban_Tiger 0
Further to last post.....They replied and are working on it but I have found one way round it for anyone who may read this with a similar problem and want a temp or even permanent fix. It's not what I wanted to do and was actually trying to avoid it but I have changed the Mouse and Keyboard over from PS/2 and whacked em on USB instead and it's cleared that problem up once the drivers go in lol ! Would have prefered them on PS/2 but USB will have to do !
