snowpilot 0
I was recently looking at the arms page, under the aircraft section. Whoever put that page together needs to do a bit more homework in regards to the Hind. The MI-24 D, which is the most common variant, has room for 16 fully-equipped troops. That, and it doesn't handle like a fighter. It handles like a greyhound bus. Thats one of the reasons the Russians developed their Havoc attack helo. The Hind is fast, true, but it doesn't handle as well down in the weeds like western choppers do. It CAN"T fly nap of the earth like the AH-64 and Lynx can, end of story. The sheer size of the helo limits its maneuverability, so it can't fly down in the weeds like western choppers can. That's not to say its a slouch in combat, because it was the one weapon the afghanis feared during the war with Russia in the 80's. Instead of sneaking up on the target from behind cover, the Hind makes high-speed diving attacks like the Stukas of old, and with the amount of firepower that thing can carry, whoever's on the recieving end is in for a world o' hurt. It is fast, but it just doesn't turn fast. But that's what happens when you make a peice of military hardware do too many things.
