ARDelta
In the Xbox version you select your weapon after the map launches. Change it so you select your weapon prior to launch.
Kurtz
Features that need to be changed for the PC game: - 1 squad. Instead of 1 squad, why not 2 squads of three, with the ability to switch control of each squad with a hotkey, and place the squad using a context sensitive cursor, and set the ROE with a hotkey. - Need much better team AI - no blood or death animations - existing AI movement animations. The animations in GR are more realistic. - existing spotting range. The enemy AI have a superhuman ability to see you at distance and through cover, - AI team banter. It's not good. It does not sound like professional special forces soldiers. Need more appropriate voice acting. - no silenced weapons. - inability to select AI team and their load out. - secondaries, include some light submachine guns. - map view, go back to the 1 page map view, with grids. - blast radius for M29, seems too weak. - no recon ROE - medic feature in MP, at least in coop. - rating, mature not teen. ARDelta
I know this is a repeat, but I wanted to comment on the map view. Please go back to a 1 page map view as Kurtz suggested. It's difficult to plan your mission when you can't see the whole map. I also agree with the rest of Kurtz's suggesting. Edit - After reading Blaster's post below, I see that I have indeed learned something new today. Thanks Blaster. Blaster
You can see the entire command map for the x-box version. While looking at the command map, click down on the left thumbstick. You now can see the entire map. Edited January 25, 2005 by Blaster
Camouflage
Didnt really read thread compleltey, but something catch my attention : "No Recon Mode" Dont tell me there is no Recon ROE in Ghost Recon 2 ? Thats the whole soul and heart of the game, at least to me.
WhiteKnight77
I do want a recon mode for a ROE and for an MP game mode. Both allow for being sneaky. We did a lot of Recon in MP with 9 people at times and had a blast trying to get everyone to the extraction point in one piece taking the long way to it. EasyCo
I dont know if this has been mentioned yet but in the XBox version the enemy reacts when you pull out a frag. I would rather them react once they see it or hear it explode. It just seems a little unrealistic for them run after you when you switch to a grenade. Thanks! BornToKill
More than 9 players for Co-op mode would be nice, or even team based co-op play. Can't not have recon mode in a game called Ghost RECON.
AntiJargon
Supported as priority 1. Bring back the Command Map only add some specific commands to it. 2. Bring back the character development (point system) 3. Open maps, I dont like the linear maps included in the XBOX version. I really like the feeling of strategy GR has, how you plan to do the objectives also you had lots of options to attack a certain location in different ways you had to be very creative on the move. 4. FULL mod support. That means the ability to add/edit particle systems, surface types, etc, in addition to creating weapon, character, vehicle, and map geometry. Added 5. Ensure that campaigns in the future releases for GR2 can be compatible with earlier campaigns so you can play all the discs in one campaign keeping the same characters (ie. like Ghost Recon, Desert Siege and Island Thunder keeping the same characters developing all trough). 6. Mod support for gameplay including very basic, simple and functional differences in enemy AI behavior (including morale for being pinned down) and accuracy effects of posture, movement, recoil and wounds, and mod support for altering damage effects such as limp, extra inaccuracy due to wounded hand, short windedness due to lung hit, unconsciousness due to head, bleeding, blacking out, shock, or at least altering deadliness of damage. 7. Possibility of failing a mission by early extraction, even getting the whole team killed, without having to replay the mission, as an option. The campaign moves on as individual recon teams do not win or lose wars. 8. AI teammates that make you feel like one of the guys, not Superman. People that pretty much drop anything they see much faster than regular AI enemies, being elite soldiers, but still having to deal with the accuracy effects. Teammates should also respond to enemies very close "by sound" but this can be done simply by giving them a short radius at which they detect any movement. 9. Teammates should also have a spotting range somewhat superior to average AI enemy, which can also be converted to a numeric character development value. This would hopefully remedy possible line of sight issues. 10. Artillery strikes, mortar strikes, airstrikes, mines on occasion for both enemy and the ghost team. Laser for precise airstrikes, assigning target on tactical map for less accurate ones. Should be rather easy considering it's only placing explosions. redlineshooter
don't get me wrong i'm all Artillery strikes though we don;t want it to much like vietcong you know.... i'd like manual guages set for the scoped guns simular to what's used in the deltaforce series, where adjust distance and scope magnifications... the option to set your kits indevidually , like ammo, gun stocks the option to hang on to more equipment, using the f-keys to select which squad you want, leaving the 1-0 keys weapons settings with multiple key to fire rate, (example: 2 pistol press 2 for firing rate bteween semi-burst-auto), more building scope, like being able search every floor of each building if required... counter sniping from roof tops and able jump across small spaces or being able to use some type of repelling gear to transen longer gaps or using scaffolding to from 1 side to another... being able to use nonlethal means to subdue assailant with say knockout darts... making suppressors a standard detatchable item, able to to change to a heavier suppressor for more silent kills and better accracy... able to add to weapons locker thoughout the mission that's when you can use enemy weapons against your enemies.... JT_Snowman
More Suggestions:Depth of Field. Objects at great distances should look slighly blurry. This will be a boon to players who are savvy at concealing their profiles against the environment.Mk 46 Inaccuracy. The barrel on the Mk 46 SAW should be much shorter. Currently it is modelled with the barrel length of its big brother variant the Mk 48. Also the canvas magazine on the currently modelled Mk 46 should hold only 100 rounds not 200 rounds.Grenadier Ammo Loads. Grenadiers (Derrick Parker and David Foster) and are modelled with harnesses that hold 16 40mm grenades. Allow 16 40mm grenades instead of the six.IFF (Identify Friend or Foe) at Night. The flag emblems and square patches on the sleeves of the Ghosts should fuction as IFF (as it does in real life) by reflectiving and glowing at night when viewed through night vision goggles. This should be at an additional and novel way to identify friendlies in Campaign Mode and Online. Thanks RSE Edited February 12, 2005 by JT_Snowman

ER(+)SER
There should be large scale maps to use sniper weapons correctly. For example any 50 cal. sniper weapon should be used to its full potential effective range which would effect ballistics for any lesser weapons...ect. desertranger12
i saw this forum and had to join just for this topic. my wish list would include... the obvious stuff - customizable weapons - keep the dead bodies - keep it 1st person no switching, its more realistic that way and makes the game harder. u have to think more like a leader less obvious stuff - americas army has a great thing goin on, make the players go through training inorder to use certain weapons, like qualifying for that weapon. - have training increase experience, take the team to the range and their accuracy goes up - different, more realistic insertions, HALO/HAHO, helicopter fast roping, armored personell carriers, etc... - give us pc players headsets so we can talk also - and keep the dead bodies, thats a must! - more of an indepth environment immersion. give us the ability to tear open a hole in a wall with a m249, or c 4. - make craters in the ground with grenades or anti tank weapons. - ability do direct ground vechicles to take out a tank or move your team to a different spot on the map, ex. HUMVEE w/50.cal or a tow missle, bradley fighting vechicle, or an abrams tank. AND THE BIG ONE THAT I WOULD LIKE - your team is deep behind enemy lines right? make the maps bigger make the mission something other than a quick insertion, quick mission, and quick expraction. missions behind enemy lines are never like that. give the team some area to cover, make them sneak past enemy patrols, bypass guard outposts, and make them take more than 20 steps to get to the objective please? le Tigre
Wanted to add one I see as being very major. If ubi wants to release a new GR every year (which is what they are doing with there other titles), in the case of the PC versions I want them to act as expansion packs, not whole new games. This is very important to me. They should be compatible with each other. and not like how Raven Shield did it, that was just bad.
