Sup 0
I made this SVD Dragunov practicing for FC modding... 780 polygons, what do you think? Any input is appreciated.
swartsz 7
looks pretty good but it is hard to make out any details, do you have a better picture of the model for us?
Sup 0
Here's the only other I've got:
pz3 338
try just taking a screen capture
Sup 0
Those are both screen captures, the second with the backround edited in PS just a bit.
JTF-2 0
actually it looks very good, especially considering the low polly-ness. way to put detail where it counts! should look really good with a proper texture on it.
creation3d 0
Where do you guys get the dimensions for the weapons you model?
Sup 0
I just base them off photos. It's not really that scientific.
SnowFella 8
That's definately the easiset way of doing it. Just try and find pictured from different angles of the gun you are making to give you plenty of reference to how thick certain parts of it are.
pz3 338
photos are much more deceiving then u might think. I.E. i have no seen one model online that represent mark23 accuratly in depth... they always make it look much more defined then it really is... its a pretty simple gun IRL
SnowFella 8
I think I could pretty much get the depth spot on using the photo sources of the Mk23 that I have laying on my hard drive. Of that gun all I pretty much need to get the thickness right is one sideshot and one shot from the front. Just make a high poly barrel to match the sideshot and then extrude the slide so it sticks out the right amount on both sides of the barrel. That I also have shots straight from the rear, below and from the top of that puppy doesn't make things worse
