ctm 0
I saw the Sniper's Challenge mod and was psyched to download it tonight. After successfully downloading and installing, it goes all the way up to where you click the right arrow to start the game then crashes and goes back to desktop. I've fooled with it all night but am really not tech oriented with computers. I have GR installed, along with DS and IT and patch 1.4. Does anybody have any advice? Thanks Tom
NightCrawler 137
Post your PC specs and your Ike crash log. Then we should have enough info that someone should be able to help.

nethawk 0
Hi, Dont know what the problem could be. When I made the mod, I made certain that all customized weapons kits were included in the installer. People I've been talking and chatting with have said the game runs fine, but... the installer installs the mod into your mp2/missions folder by default, and that shouldn't be changed. In other words, let the installer install the mod where it should be. Otherwise, try moving it into your original mission/missions folder, or else MP1/missions folder, but since I thoroughly tested with others in the mp2 folder, it seems to run fine from there. Of course, you have to have Desert siege and island thunder running, and the 1.4 patch (as you already stated). Otherwise, I don't know what the problem is. Also, once you get it running (im sure you will), make sure you disable explosives in mutiplayer unless your ISP is high speed DSL, ADSL, or Cable.
ctm 0
From your reply, I'm sure I'm doing something basic wrong. Let ask you these couple of questions. In order to see the missions, I had to have the IT CD in the machine. Under Options/Mods, I only had IT activated. Should I also have DS activated? I only play single player against the AI, do I need to go into multi-player to disable the explosives as you have mentioned? In your readme file you warned about players with high "pings". What does that mean? I'll fool with it tonight when I get home, make some changes, and give it a try again. Thanks for your help. Tom
WhiteKnight77 1
Ping is the amount of time it takes for a signal to go from your PC to another PC and back on the internet or a network.

Dont use the IT cd - use the original (green) CD - the [Ghost Recon] CD. Also, have both IT and DS activated under mods and nothing else unless it's a weapons mod such as GRM 4 or 4.8 or sniper's armoury. Ping is a sub-naval combat term - it indicates the amount of time it takes for sonar to bounce back from a target to its source. Explosives in single player is fine , but with several high ping players in multiplayer, expect the game to possibly crash due to high amounts of tangoes. good luck. ctm 0
That was the problem, I didn't have BOTH IT and DS activated under the MODS screen. I played the first mission untill midnight last night, had to quit because my ego couldn't take getting killed so often. Those ghillie suited snipers you created are really tough to pick out! This is my new favorite MOD, you did a great job. Thanks for the help. Tom
