callmehobbes 0
I'm having another attempt at modding using Ruins tutorial as a guide. the problem is when I d/l'd the RSB conversion file itdidn't seem to do anything. At present all it is is a stars and stripes icon on my desktop entitled rsbtoolv1 and I have no idea what to do with it now. I'm sure the answer is really simple but I am totally useless with computers and need a little more help than most. Thanks for your support Callmehobbes
Kalash_47 0
u just have to lauch the program with the stras and stripes icon then go to file/open choose the skins (or other .rsb) u want to convert then convert it. this program will convert ur rsb into tga format wich u can modify as u want using photoshop or paintshoppro. the conversion will be in the same folder as the .rsb (or create a nex folder where u can put all ur conversion later) It seems that this program don't convert all the skins but most of them hope it will help

callmehobbes 0
I've given up on the convertor (it works only a small amount of the time) and so am trying to put the rsb plug into photoshop 5.5 but have no idea how to do this. Any help? cheers Callmehobbes
Dannik 43
I dropped the plug-in into X:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS\Plug-Ins\File Formats and upon restarting Photoshop, found the RSB filetype supported.
callmehobbes 0
Thanks for that Dannik! PS is now reading the RSB's. (The big problem now is that after I've tinkered around with the skins, I can't get GR to use them in games. The main problem is I don't know how to get my new skins (RSB files) to be accepted as .chr files when altering the actor files.) It's a bit complicated this modding malarkey-it makes me appreciate the work the rest of you all the more! Cheers Callmehobbes PS-As I've been searching through all the mod files I've found a few cool chrs. that aren't actually used in the mods (Loads in DTD's IDF). Are there any rules about opening them up for use (not for release) and if it's allowed how is it done? (Again it's that problem with RSB's and chr files!)
GRT 0
Read toward the bottom where it says "mike schells skinner" in green. http://www.ghostrecon.net/html/skin-tutorial-05.htm
callmehobbes 0
Whayhey!! I've done it -my first ever re-skin. As soon as I figure out how I'll post an image. It's a spear/socom black fleece (drawn by hand) Cor blimey - this is quite an addictive hobby! Oh, and are there any other skinning packs available aside from Wildcats? I'm trying to find a Danish skin pattern without any webbing. Thanks to all who have helped. Callmehobbes.
Stalker 0
[img=http://www.yourwebserver.com/yourpicture.jpg] You have to upload your pic to a webspace and use this code to post it here. As for the Danish pattern, I have something for you. I will post in this thread when it's finished.

callmehobbes 0
Nice one Stalker. At the minute I'm still messing about with the fleece, trying it with different webbing on different models. When I get a really good skin/model/chr. I'll get the relevant approvals and post him/them up. At the moment I've adapted Wildcat's 3 color desert pattern, added a (very simple) rappelling harness, a lockknife etc. Thanks again.
