Pave Low
Ignore that big ass mod thread, way to much to d/l. When I get back in I'll get a list of the mods were only using for the campaign. We're trying to cut down on the number of mods that we've got, as a number of them we don't use anymore, and we keep finding better ones yeah, we need to get together and really sort out the addons we use (trouble is there are too many good ones ) We could loose the FK hummers and maybe some of the other units too ? (maybe limit ourselves to just a couple of the best US packs ?) definitely think we want to keep the combat vehicles, but maybe limit it to just the Humvee, 113, Bradley packs ? also keep the BAS Blackhawks+Littlebirds and maybe the Pavehawks (or maybe replace the BH's with the PH's ?) as to NEW stuff, we've mentioned it before but it would be great to add some of the Chain of Command stuff maybe just the artillery and mines if we want to maximise space ? Sart
My vote: HyK Infantry Pack LSR Ranger Pack LSR Delta Pack Marine Pack (That gives us Infantry, Marines, Airborne, Rangers, and SF. Something for any scenario) LSR US Weapons Pack (Needed for the units, plus the guns are just great.) COMBAT M113s COMBAT M2/M3 Bradleys COMBAT Hummers BAS Pavehawk (A excellent selection of vehicles. We hardly ever use the little birds, and the Pavehawks are a lot cooler then the Blackhawks (Plus there camo!).) VITAPC (sp?) (Great looking OPFOR, gives more vehicles to the baddies as well!) Anything else we hardly ever use...
Pave Low
a great list looking more like it (A excellent selection of vehicles. We hardly ever use the little birds, and the Pavehawks are a lot cooler then the Blackhawks (Plus there camo!)). yeah, better to ditch the BH's for the spec ops versions As to maps the desert_eden and CAT are definitely keepers, I have been looking at other maps and were gonna have to be very tough on ourselves to try to limit them (or pick the ones with varied terrain) a great beta map to check out is NewLand it has a lot of great terrain & features on it but is a little bit high on system use. DeltaDude
If you guys are looking for a good general OPFOR, a pack was recently realesed with all sorts of varients. ftp://www.gamezone.cz:8021/ofpd/unofaddon...W_OPFORBETA.zip
T_1
About loosing the Blackhawks, bear in mind that although the Special FOrces ones may be better, if we're shuffling about regular Infantry we're better with the low spec general version if you see what I mean. But on the whole I agree with Sart. Delta Dudes link to the OpFor looks interesting tho ...
Sart
T makes a good point, might want to keep them after all. Is one of us going to bundle all these up into one large zip, and all of us do fresh reinstalls?
2nd Ranger
In what way are the pavehawks better, anyway?
Sup
They're much better quality. Anyway, I vote for one packaged zip. Or maybe even a couple, say, an Infantry zip and a weapons/vehicles zip.
2nd Ranger
But HOW are they better quality? Do they do something the Blackhawks don't?
Sart
There exactly the same as the Blackhawks, they just look better (Plus they come in woodland and desert camo, instead of the black blob). Just like the LSR rangers look better then the BAS ones.
2nd Ranger
There we go, then. No point in getting them for a better paint job.
T_1
Certainaly for the current Campaign there is no point getting the Pawehawks as most of the Air Transport will be handled by the Blackhawks in Socrata anyway. Any Spec Ops stuff they'll just have to hitch a ride on the Blackhawks .... or walk
2nd Ranger
Where Socotra is concerned, the BAS Blackhawks/Pavehawks wouldn't be strictly accurate from an historical point of view anyway, except for the MH-60L. I really don't think we need to replace the BH anyway, seems alot of bother for nothing. I'd even be quite happy using the stock BH to get from A to B, as we hardly ever use any of the extra features the BAS birds provide. The above list looks fine to me, although should we still want to play the laser designator missions, we would have to downgrade them to use the stock LD which, as I have said before, takes up a helluvalot more space in the kits.
