Sart 34
September 3rd, 1989 OPORD Situation: Two days ago we lost contact with two of our soldiers around 12:45. Some of our boys spotted them being held in a enemy camp to the East, and since our SF boys are busy at the moment, were putting you in charge of rescuing them. Here are some recent photos of them: the one on the left is SGT. James Pound, the one on the right is CPL. Richard Holl. We also have two more jobs for you. We need you to seize a machine gun nest overlooking the beach. It's high up on the hills but only a few guards patrol the area, so it shouldn't prove to much trouble. The second is a fuel truck parked in the camp. We need it taken out in case the bad guys decide to juice up the tanks. Intention: HQ thinks that the POWs might be executed around 7:00 so we need to get them out of the camp fast. The southern half of the camp seems to be lightly guarded, that may be the best way to attack. We need the nest captured in order to land Marines for our upcoming offensive. It's an uphill battle so use your best judgment when attacking. As for the fuel truck, it rest in the middle of the camp. In order to make the task a bit easier, we put a few satchel charges in your kit load-out. Enemy forces: Light infantry guard the camp with some heavy MGs in the nest. Small patrols spotted throughout the area. Friendly Forces: N/A Service/Support: N/A Kit Load-out (Extra Gear): M9 Pistol: 6x M9 Magazine (15rd): 32x M16 Magazine (30rd): 15x M249 Magazine (200rd): 5x Hand Grenade: 5x Satchel Charge: 3x Binoculars: 7x Current weather: Sunny, good visibility. Forecast for the next 12 hours: No change. OBJECTIVES 1. The capture of the machine gun nest is needed if we want to land Marines on the beach, take it out. 2. Rescue the POWs from the enemy camp and get them to extract at the end of your mission. 3. Destroy the enemy fuel truck. 4. Get to your extract zone located at Badanah. Notes A Humvee was hit last night by a road side bomb. In a matter of seconds, the enemy started pouring out and managed to capture two of our boys. Our task is to rescue them. We have to step on it though, HQ thinks the enemy is going to kill them around 7:00. Can't let that happen...
