Rainbow six 4

Recommended Posts

i saw this over at theplatoon today.

go to play.com and do a search for Rainbow Six, they have a Rainbow Six 4 listed for release next year. Does anybody know what it will be, another Raven Shield expansion or an entirely new game?

On June 8, 2004, RSE took out a trademark on the name Rainbow Six Iron Wrath but the trademark contains no infromation about the nature of the title, other than it will be a video game. Rocky posted a news article at AGR-S in mid-August about it. Nobody seems to know officially whether it's another expansion for Raven Shield, or an actual standalone, although my expectation is on expansion.

Little late..... SDK?  Too busy working on another game... sigh....

Nearly two years ago, I predicted that Ubi would not release a SDK for RvSh by June 1, 2004; Ubi unfortunately proved me correct. I doubt that we'll see any improvements if there is another R6 game. If UbiSoft is behind it, the game will be subpar, end of story. They have great artists, but the final products just stink.

I always say this, but regardless of whether it's an expansion pack or a new game entirely, I won't be buying it until it's been tried and tested.

RvS was and still is a joke and not worth a penny of what I spent on it. Pity though, it had a lot of potential.

I dunno, I just finished Prince of Persia, and they made that. Very good game. Maybe with their tactical military shooters, but their platformers are very very nice games.

New Rainbow Six targets next spring

Next chapter in Ubisoft's Tom Clancy anti-terrorism FPS to feature darker storyline, optimized graphics for PS2, new gear, and more.

Ubisoft and Tom Clancy continued their proliferation today when the company announced the fourth installment of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six will be available for the PC, Xbox, and PlayStation 2 next spring. The title is being developed simultaneously by Red Storm Entertainment and Ubisoft Montreal.

The yet-to-be-titled anti-terrorism game sees the Rainbow squad in unfamiliar territory story-wise, as they must rescue subjects they never thought they'd have to--themselves. Personally targeted by a terrorist organization, gamers will now have the option of adopting two personas: team leader Ding Chavez or Dieter Weber, Team Rainbow's ace sniper.

The game will build largely on Rainbow Six 3 and Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow's formulae by adding enhanced sound and graphics--including an all-new engine for the PS2 version. Added features include: new operatives to command; new online modes, including the PS2-only rivalry mode; the Xbox-only career mode; and new equipment such as motion trackers and battering rams.

Tom Clancy and Ubisoft have enjoyed a symbiotic relationship since they hooked up earlier this decade, releasing a myriad of successful titles under the Tom Clancy brand on several platforms and in various genres. Tom Clancy's squad-based shooter Ghost Recon 2 for the PS2 was released today, one week after its Xbox cousin. Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, the latest in the eagerly awaited stealth-action series, is expected to ship for multiple platforms in March.
