Thank You Rocky

Recommended Posts

Almost every other forum I've gone to I end up hating for the sole reason that no matter what I say, until I've got about 800 posts, I just get flamed by a bunch of "senior" members. I just tried another one, and it ended just like that. They're not even very good at making insults, just a bunch of profanities stuck together. Anyway, thanks for having a forum that's nice and helpful, instead of destructive.

I didn't have time to post this earlier, but it should of course be mentioned that this is a real team effort. Most of the people who visit here don't really know or care who does what, but folks like you that take the time to post a "thank you" are the ones that keep us going, and probably already know who the team are. So I'll take this opportunity to quickly run through who does what to keep these forums going...these folks have been with me for a long LONG time, and are the best team!

Super Bob

SB keeps these forums uptodate and secure, installing patches and new features and taking backups.

ZJJ and Pave Low

zjj and Pave take care of big issues that crop up now and again, like security breaches and troublesome members. There are great at digging up facts and spotting bogus mischievous accounts. They both offer me excellent counsel when I need advice on anything that's going on in the forums, or any proposals we have on the cards. In addition, between them zjj and Pave have actioned almost 2000 tasks (moving posts, editing titles, changing member names etc etc) in the forums since this version went live almost 2 years ago.

NYR, Whiteknight, Sartillies, Pyro Monty, SOTO Mac

These are the guys that are tireless in their efforts to assist absolutely anyone who has a problem or a question about Ghost Recon. They also moderate the forums moving posts to the correct forum, handle questionable content, assist members with forum issues, issue warnings where warranted, and ensure the forum rules are complied with. It's the careful and considerate application of those duties that keep the forums civil and prevent hostility reaching damaging levels.

CR6, Dannik, Giwex, Hatchetforce, zeroalpha, Jack57, Stalker and recently SAF Biffa

This team of Consultants have vast experience that spans more than just Ghost Recon and thus can offer forum users help with a really amazing diversity of knowledge. From unrivaled Tom Clancy gaming knowledge, to detailed modding skills, PC gaming in general, computer hardware and software skills, real world special forces intel and just plain Ghost Recon crazy - these guys add body to the skeleton of the forums.

Together each of these groups and individuals are constantly posting in the Consultants Forum coming up with new ideas, producing new content, working on things as a team and discussing improvements.

It's a truly remarkable team. With only a couple of exceptions, these folks have been working here for years - that's dedication for you.

The love in this thread is sickening! :nono:

LOL - But seriously, I agree with every comment. Most forums are full of attitude and hatred towards anyone new to that scene.

But I think it's the staff that set the tone of the forum, and old and new visitors just follow along with it.

The worst froum I've visited has to be SIGAMES - the makers of Championship Manager series. The staff are rude to people, so of course all the members feel they can follow suit!

It is refreshing to find a very open and helpful forum, such as this.

P.S. - If you like the forum as much as you say, you could also donate some money to GR.net.

As a reward you will get a super looking "Supporters" tag (See left).

You'll also get access to the VERY exclusive members lounge area. No free drinks I'm afraid, but the chat ain't half bad. And reviews and access to the latest mods etc.

Oh and also a little web space for storing your sigs and avatars!!
