Arms 0
Have you guys heard about the expansion pack for Doom 3? Reading the expansion in process, it says the story is about how a strange signal is emitting from a abandoned site called Erebus on the same rock from the first story. Erebus was the first expedition base sent to the place but was abandoned and that how the other base was established. The UAC send a female scientist (hint: you should know which female scientist this is by now if you played DOOM 3 already) and a group of other scientists and plus marines to investigate the signal. You'll be playing as a marine. The story takes place after the incident in doom 3. Edited November 18, 2004 by Arms

Cobblers 12
This might sound a bit wimpish! But I had to stop playing Doom3, it was just too bloody frightening for me!!! Never jumped out of my seat so many times.
Arms 0
The expansion pack is called Resurrection of Evil.
budgie 1
I found it too boring and repetitive. Actually I'm hanging out for the next truly innovative or original game (Oblivion or World of Warcraft?) to come along or at least the next step up in realistic squad shooters (BoB or Close Combat?). Till then I'll settle for GTA San Andreas...to keep my attention on a game now there must be very little linear scripting and so on. Too many new games are just the same old rubbish or even winning formulas repackaged with nice graphics.
Arms 0
I dont think the game was to invent some new gameplay but to provide a means of good thrills and spills (like a roller coaster ride) but in this case tension, suspense and fear. Its like Painkiller, a dumb game (far from it) but doesnt try to be clever by reinventing gameplay but making it a enjoyable game by placing you in a room with hordes of undead with kickarse weaprony blasting away at them. Never jumped out of my seat so many times. ← Doom 3 is NOT scary. How many more times do I have to tell you people!! I have NOT jumped out of my seat even once while playing Doom 3. I have NOT even felt scared once playing Doom 3. I'm like playing Doom 3, surrounded by aliens....I'm in a dark corridor, can't see ######...and I'm like: I thought this was meant to be scary. Sorry, but I don't find Doom 3 scary! Half Life 1 made me jump out my skin loadsa times when I'm in a vent shaft, can't see a thing and a headcrab jumps out at me.... Arms 0
You must love scary movies then Nightmare...
WytchDokta 6
I hear that in the expansion pack, you don't play the same guy you played as in the original....there's also new weapons including the gravity gun from HL2 albeit but a different weapon model!! Double barrel shotgun is in the expansion too, but apparently 'players will have nightmares about its' long reloading times' One quarrel I have about Doom 3 - - - the game is set in the quite distant future.... surely the guy you play would have NVG's!! I know that would take away from the scariness factor, but NVG's sure would be useful. Also, I reckon you should be able to hold the pistol in one hand and the flashlight in the other. I wonder if they'll put the mighty flamethrower in the expansion pack....hmmmm....would certainly work wonders.... Edited November 28, 2004 by [Wx] .:Nightmare:. Arms 0
The female scientist they send is Dr Betrugers assistant... A screenshot i saw would be a monster thing that has some sort of tv screen mounted on its chest with some nasty teeth being shown on it. KRP 56 92
The Doom3 Expansion Pack is called Resurrection Of Hell and is being developed by Nerve Software. It takes place 2 years after the events in Doom3 in which you'll fight your way to hell and back to the final exorcism on the Demon Doc. Should be out around springtime.
