swestm3 0
I just purchased IT, having played GR & DS and uninstalling them after I was through. So reinstalled GR and IT and patch 1.4. When I select the desktop icon the first page of start/install/unistall/readme displays. I select the play option and the CD starts and it appears to be starting the game when the CD stops and nothing else happens. There is nothing running in the Task Monitor. So I uninstall and edit the registry as instructed by some, check for errors with Norton, defrag, install GR, reboot, install DS & IT, Patch 1.4 and defrag. Still the same, any game gives the option to play, the Cd spins up and then stops and I'm at the desktop again. XP, P3 1.4, 80 gig HD with penty of space, 256k, N Vidia GForce 4 32k, SoundBlaster Live Value and Directx 8.1 I see problems below in the Ike.log but need help in determining problem. swestm3 0
Just noticed someone else had a problem because of Turbo Tax. I have it installed and can't play. I'll wait to hear before I go any further.
Stinger 0
RSDirect3DRenderer::BuildDeviceList: No compatible adapters found RSDirect3DRenderer: Could not build device list RSDisplayMgr::CreateRenderer: Could not initialize renderer That looks like gfx issues. You say you have a 32MB GF4...I didnt even know they made MX440's in 32MB. Do your other games (3D) run fine? What Drivers are you using for your gfx?
swestm3 0
Sorry about the 32MB on the GF4, I guess it should be 64MB. I down loaded the lastest XP drivers from NVidia. I don't have anyother games on the computer right now. Do you think the problem is the GF4? Thanks
Stinger 0
Try this, to see if the 3D is still working ( I have the same card as you prett much). Go to Start, Run, type in dxdiag then hit enter. Then go to the display section and click on the Direct3D thing. Run all the tests to make sure your 3D is being rendered still. What drivers are you on?
swestm3 0
Just looked at DXDiag on the Display page. Approx. memory available: N/A. So this appears to be the problem. I had a VOODoo card before and maybe some drivers are still resident. So see., Thanks
