It's still the best! That simple.

I've tried all the so-called replacements or successors, RvS, Far Cry, JOTR, etc but I just keep coming home to GR.

Also, having been around online communities for too many years to mention, I think the motley crew here at GR.Net are the best. That's not a suck up. It's the truth. People ask questions here, from the down right simple to the brain knocking technical and they will get help or answers. On a lot of other sites all you get from asking a question or stating an opinion is flames or crys of "noob".

I've played this game since it came out and still have fun with it on a regular basis and I only play SP. I got enough mods that I haven't played yet to keep me busy for a long time. By far the best military game ever made. Now if GR2 can only live up to that. <_<

I quote entirely and I add only that a new push to the game was when I started to mod by myself. No MP for me!

Its still as imersive as ever, new mods & Realism mods help with AI alot more from when I got the game when it came out.

I currently love playing the few new maps out on night missions using SD - voice recognition for commands, lights off - earphones on & Kafees Soundpack firmly switched on .. luurvly :ph34r: . Play that on stealth SP mission gametype for a hour and when you come off the pc its like sufacing again from "another place" .. hehe, luv it.

I dont play that much MP - Ive loved this game for SP mainly.

After trying numourous different (better looking) games I still keep coming back to GR simply because of the playablility and the sheer fun you can have with it if you have the right people around you.

This is by far the most rewarding game I have ever had.

simple: no other game has yet been able to offer the same kind of tactful patience in playing it as GR. While some you can slow down and treat more like GR with the right group of people, they still lean toward the frag-festing games that I ran away from when I found GR...and I'm not about to go back to them. Until another game can offer the same type of gameplay and thinking required in GR (and that has a good solid Co-op game mode) I doubt I'll leave GR.

I enjoy the mission aspects of the game especially with mods how they can enhance the 'BLAU' factor for it. For example the M4 Armoury mod is a must have as it adds lotsa m4 configurations and can make your mission easier in a away. The different approaches how you complete the objectives/mission is very fun. But i'd wish people play the missions abit more in MP. Its exciting to tell REAL PEOPLE to do multiple objectives at once or something like that.

I guess there are two reasons I still play GR....

First, the extremely talented GR modding community. I think I would have deleted GR a few months after finishing the last mission pack (Island Thunder) if it wasn't for all the GR modders. Thank you so much, all of you.

Second, I'd have to say it's because of the friends I've made and still play with. I started playing GR the day it first came out in the US. As soon as I finished the missions, I started playing online in UBI. Eventually I started meeting up with people who just wanted to play the game in a "realistic tactical" way and well the rest is history. Phoenix Soldiers

It's a solid combination of friendship and extremely talented modders that keep GR (PC) as exciting as it still is for me.

had to reformat my PC this month so all the modding and stuff I'd done is gone

:o:o:o

Try making it a habbit to backup your work once a month (or after major changes) on a CDRW/DVDRW.

I also have a harddisk for windows and another one for games/mods etc., so I can easily format the windows harddisk and still have all my work on the other harddisk. (or make 2 partitions on 1 harddisk).
