somehow i fixed the dark arms issue.... Ok not really sure how but I got some specific Ideas of what might of done it, So with some trouble shooting I should get this problem down and out of the way for the future.

Looks much better =) im happy now.

Here's a quick preview of the HK416 ingame...as I haven't had time to retexture the Elcan I quickly slapped on an Eotech sight instead.

Textures are still Work in progress though.

Think what I like best about VBS1 is the fact I can set polygons to "always shine", meaning they will be fully lit even during the night....so in this case the Eotech's reticule will be lit during the night. :rocky:

Very nice Prozac!

Just makes me dread when I have to model my first Harris Bipod...and that's most likely coming up pretty darn soon.

Ive tried it before and never liked the result for some reson.

Never really liked modeling bipods as they always come out looking funky for some reason. Oh well, the SCAR-H sniper version that I'm soon to build needs one so I'll have to dig in and make one I guess. <_<

Took some time the other day and today to give my old Elcan model a touchup, the original model dates back to my Ares Shrike mod :wacko: Also took some time to go over the HK416's texture and tone down some of the highlights in it.

New on the left and old on the right. The new is alittle higher in polys but still uses the same size texturemap.

Hehe...not sure how much you acctually will see in this shot as the character didn't have any nightvision goggles and I couldn't see anything bar the reticule.  :rofl:

a holosight reticle in the sight, as you can see, but then you can

also see a bar reticle??????

please enlighten me here :huh:

It's acctually quite simple ingeloop.

What you are looking at in that dark screenshot is the same view as in the larger screenie further up in the thread. It's VBS1's default weapon view and could best be described as having your weapon shouldered but not looking through the sights.

The bar reticule is a rough indication of where any shots will hit.

If you on the other hand hit the "v" button (default keysettings) to bring up your sight then this is what you will see with the Eotech.

I wish VBS1 was only a little more apealing to the eye :( It looks great thoe SF

Put it like this Prozac...my rig isn't powerful enough to take VBS1's settings up as high as they can go without looking at a slideshow, and I'm running a P4 3.2, 2 gig PC4200 DDR2 RAM and a GF 6800 Ultra :o

Well, more or less finished with the HK416/AG416 combo now. Mainly just some tweaks of the texture to do once I get it ingame.

Edit: Ended up looking pretty darn good ingame, just a shame I don't have any control over the lefthand placement in VBS1 :(
