Hey, Welcome to GR.Net! :)

Well, a quickie way is to edit the env. file of the particular mission. Open up the env. file of your day mission, compare it side by side with a night mission env. from a stocknight mission like Castle or NightBattle, then change the following on the day env. to match the night one:

Sky

Fog

Far clip

Is night? <1> or check the box.

Trouble is, although the sky is a night sky and the air is black, all the people, trees ground etc are all brightly lit. To make a real night map needs the lighting tool or RealeseDarkMapMaker.exe

If you have no idea what I'm talking about (no offence), you can 1. Use the search function of the forums to get some answers or 2. Ask some more. Most (but not all ;) ) of us would be glad to help.

Thanks. I appreciate the tips.

Does anyone know, then, where to get the lighting tool or the executable file ReleaseDarkMapMaker. Or if you happen to know that you have posted on this topic before, if you could just link to a previous answer to the question (if that's possible) it would be greatly appreciated.

Well, first set up a mods folder with the necessary folders inside. Then copy the entire map folder of the map you want to relight and paste it into the Maps folder of your mod folder. The lighting tools needs all the texture files in there to work.

Then, find a wall so you can do this :wall: just in case things don't work out. You'll notice that :wall: is the most common emoticon in the mods section. :D

Next open up IGOR.exe > Tools > Environment Editor, and edit the env. file to day/night/dusk like I mentioned above.

Now for the lighting tool, which is the nickname we have for the ReleaseDarkMapMaker.exe.

Look inside the Isd Thuner CD under "extras" and you'll find a zip file called lighting tool. Also find the "Ghost Recon_Level Builder" pdf which contains instructions for the tool. A few of us are hosting the IGOR manual (basic and advanced) but I can't remember who. Maybe San.

Also look up the Basic Lighting Tutorial at the top of the Map Mods section.

And also use the search function to look up lighting, darkmap, retexture, etc.

Finally, onceyou relight a map, you can delete all the texture files EXCEPT any file with "-dmm-" or "darkmap" in the name.

Good luck!

I've made a website with tutorials for 3dsm/photoshop/igor you name it.

But I lost the site's password

I think it's still up : SANSITE.

I asked Lycos to remove the site, maybe I'll put the tits on my new site.

If you look for it you can find all the tuts somewhere else too (just like I did). :shifty:

You've got tits on your new site?

haha

it must be a typo :D

couple minutes later: can't edit the post (oh-oh), now what ? I can only edit the last post I made. Oh well, maybe an admin will see it and edit it. I'm sorry.
