Zeko 33
K so i finally started on making myself some homepage. I have yet to learn CSS and PHP so i just started with something easy, the graphic part... So far i made splash screen which is not finished yet. I dunno what will i do with orb in the middle. Kinda doesnt fit there. Name is something i need to think about it too lol. Comments&critics r very welcome!
Avey 0
Very Nice mate! I think the orb does fit. The light blue stroke around the bottom of the orb is what makes it look 'out of place'. Try this inset tutorial for more The Enter | Forum | Contact text at the bottom does nay look right. The light drop shadow doesn't do it for me. But, that is some damn nice work! firefly2442 0
Looks cool. Make sure you keep the page size down for 56k dialup people.
Zeko 33
Thx firefly . It's been awhile since i was on dial-up so i really dunno how long does it take to load 1024x768 page. If it's sliced and coded, then it should go better.

If it's sliced and coded, then it should go better. ← Careful when slicing from PS/IR. It will export images that are just one colour (a background for example) which can add to the rendering time of the page considerably. Instead of using an image you can code that colour in by selecting the slice with the slice select tool and choosing a hex colour. A solid, one tone image can take seconds to load where as "background-color: #FFF" (for example) would take a micro second. Remember to optimize it to shave off those seconds for 56kers! Zeko 33
Hehe cool tip m8 altho i was thinking of using a 2x2 pixel pattern that will tile on background. From what i heard, that stuff is fast too. Not sure tho. Thx for the tips Avey, if u got more of them, bring it on Edited October 27, 2004 by Zeko

Because its a little image repeated over and over, but only needs to load once. SquidFingers have loadsa patterns to choose from if you don't fancy making your own.
