UK BBC2 9:00 PM TONIGHT >>>>

I hope this thread gets not only locked, but deleted. I run a pretty open political forum, but I doubt that even my most liberal members would espouse the view expressed in that summary. You're asking for trouble by posting this here, and the BBC is asking for trouble airing such rubbish.

Its a tv programme ... thats all. Why delete the post/thread? - are you saying that now we cant even post things that are on Television for the public?

Im not posting to encite some hatred or spin for the bbc - I dont work for them! - but its another view on things ... simple as that.

PS - the debate doesnt have to be put here - thus justifying deletion (which I could understand)- people are free to make there own minds up by simply watching the programme - its alink to show what it is & what time its on for UK peepes to have a look, seems you made your mind up without even considering it .. your choice & fair enough :)

For now, I am not closing this as Calius hasn't made a political post while the page he has linked to has. If people want to discuss the BBC airing what may be garbage [my words], fine, as long as politics does not rear it's ugly head. Once it does, this thread will disappear.

Para lives here in the States and was just arguing the fact that the BBC may have bitten off more than it can chew [again my words] in reguards to this. Most of us know what happened when a British newspaper tried to have folks send mails to Ohio and I won't be relating that fact.

On a personal note, I am glad that the UK is one of our biggest allies through all of what may happen.

id watch it if it was aired here in Aus. It may very well be in the future on the ABC, which has close links with the BBC.

Frankly this doesnt have to be an argument, Its an argument if it gets turned into one.

Sure, it could be classed as anti-american, anti-islamic, anti-government, anti-vegemite sandwich, but that doesnt matter. The BBC has no obligation not to air this show. Its actuially a prime example of the media working well.

Its one side of the story, and it is being shown as such.

For those of us who were too busy with the OPF Mission Editor last night, was it worth watching? Was the summary posted in the link accurate?

I saw the Conspiracies stuff on Sky, and found most of them almost comical in their approach to what could have been at least a semi serious subject matter.

How did this programme approach it's subject?

The programme was great, its certainly not anti american because in my mind anti american must be you are anti "every" american ... which is wrong & it isnt like that at all.

Anywho - it covered alot about neo-conservative views and how it came about since 1940's AND (before people get the thread locked about political rantings) - all about how islamic fundamentalism came about ... its shows both sides of the coin and how they grew on there ways of thinking/came together & separated (although that part is coming next on part 2 of the 3 parts) - it all came from somewhere and its good to know how most things started out.

It was very interesting & gives alot of detail of things I wasnt sure on in the past, shedding light on things now, very good programme no matter what your views are - as its looking from outside-in on both areas. Certainly wasnt an attack on anyone (which is what everyone assumes as soon as its US related and anything to do with islam or government).

Im not in government - im not a complete political nut - but this is good for anyone interested in the past.

Its in 3 parts & is back on next wednesday.

PS - im glad it didnt get locked as that wasnt the point of my posting the link, so thanks for that GR moderator peeps ;):)

one interesting thing it showed was that a director of the CIA in the 70's was a nep conservitive and beleived in a book that outlined a point that all treeoism around the world was run by moscow in a bid to take over the world. sadly all the info the book relied on was black propaganda made up by the CIA it's self yet the director still beleived it

Sounded like I missed a good programme there, I'll try and catch a re-run before the next part.
