mtgriz 0
Hello! Recently, my daughter uninstalled gr by accident. I reinstalled the game, but now, when I attempt to play on ubi after picking a server, I recieve the message: cannot connect to server unknown reason. I had been playing gr on ubi for approx 1 yr with no problems. I believe the only mods I had installed were mp1 and mp2....I think (it's been a while...and I'm not even sure what those mods were, or how I got them). I have yet to install IT or DS. Any help would be greatly appreciated. MY pc runs xp. Thanks!
el nino foxhound 0
MP1 is desert siege and MP2 is island thunder. Did you patch the game to version 1.4? If not you can get the patch here If you are missing mods while joining a server you will get a message showing you what mods you dont have installed. Often you also see a link to where you can download the mod. In ubi most servers use HX5 and.......one I hardly dare to name here...called da4.9 Let us know if it helped. Goodluck. Big 0
I dont think the problem is the version, cause if it was then the message would be "incorrect software" or something similar. Maybe u have to detect ur game on UBI. In "options" on ubi.com, then "lobby settings", and finally check the tab: "Ghost Recon". There u have to detect ur ghostrecon.exe file. Thanks 4 your reply. I located gr at: d:\ghostrecon.exe (is that right? or should it be on c drive?). Also, my game version stated: 1.0.0.2. However, I installed the new 1.4 patch, but it is on my c drive. Is this creating a problem with the gr being on d drive, and the 1.4 patch being on the c drive? I attempted to get onto a server with the 1.4 version, but a message stated I had the wrong version. Any ideas. Thanks for your assistance.

Goodluck. ← Hi Foxhound, Thanks for your reply. I did have the 1.4 version downloaded, and when I start GR, it indicates in the lower RT corner that I am playing with the updated version. However, when I entered UBI and checked on the options icon if my game was detected, I learned that I was still playing with version 1.0.0.2, and it was running at d:\ghostrecon.exe. My 1.4 patch is on my c drive. Is this creating a problem. Also, now when I attempt to log onto a server at UBI, I either get a message stating I have the wrong version, or I get an error screen indicating ghostrecon.exe has experienced a problem and needs to shut down....I did install DS and IT. My firewall is not the problem. Any ideas? Thanks again.
el nino foxhound 0
Hi there again. Ok here is something so we wont alk about different things. You installed GR, DS and IT on your D:\ drive??? Correct? If so you should install the patch on d:\ aswell, inside the ghostrecon folder. All GR related stuff should be put together. Did you install the NO-CDcrack? Moderator edit for content. Talking about CD-cracks are against forum rules Edited October 12, 2004 by WhiteKnight77
WhiteKnight77 1
It sounds like you will have to uninstall GR completely and reinstall GR, DS, IT in order then apply the patch to the proper directory. If GR is installed on D:/, point the patch to the folder there. El Nino Foxhound, be more careful about that stuff next time.

I thought this was allowed since it wasnt really about the installation, more a version thing. But sorry again I won't mention it again.

I think (I hope) I figured out what the problem was: After downloading the patches, I needed to install them using the wizard program over to the GR files. If I want to install the mp1 and mp2 mods, do I just install DS and IT, or access the mods through UBI? Thanks again for your time.
el nino foxhound 0
Just install DS and IT. When you install DS a new map in your mods folder will appear called MP1. When you install IT a new map in your mods folder will appear called MP2. After you have installed them both they should appear in your mods list. To see your mods list do the following. Start GR---->click options----->look on top of screen for mods and click on it----------->now on the right side of the screen under activated mods it should say Desert siege Island thunder When you did all this correct you should be able to join servers using only GR, DS and IT with patch (version) 1.4. Big 0
All in the same drive: 1) Install Ghost Recon 2) Install Desert Siege 3) Install Island Thunder (maybe now u have version 1.3) 4) Install the patch 1.4 5) Detect ur game at UBI Now u would be able to play in the rooms with version 1.4, and that run mp1&mp2 mods. For other mods just check the download section, most popular are HX5 and DA49. U can go to www.ghostaholic.com too for the downloads. Just click in the image of my signature to go there.
