rioghan_celt
Hey, I tried downloading the beta for this, but I couldn't get it. I tried the link that was posted on a mods roundup. Anyway, Pararescue guys are an outstanding group to highlight for a conversion or skin mod. I'm all about downloading this when it comes out, and once again I'll patiently wait the hours it takes my 56k modem to chew through the process! So keep up the good work, the skins looked great when sh own in the mods roundup.
silent_op
we are currently working away on it, can't give a date yet but its comming. ← Cool, no problem. I just really like the beta so far. Rioghan_celt is right, PJs are an interesting and worthy SF group to highlight in a mod. Combat Controlers would be nice for a future mod (hint ). Hey, do you guys have a site with some other mods that you've created? silent_op
rioghan_celt
"Combat Controlers would be nice for a future mod (hint )." Hey Silent Op, this is a great point, but there's really no reason why they cannot be in this mod. Generally the Special Tactics Units of the U.S. Air Force has began to include Pararescue men into their missions. Obviously not always, but it's a pretty accepted concept to include PJ's into their missions. If you want some good reading about the operations of the Special Tactics Units which are basicly Combat Controllers and PJ's combined, then I'd recommend the book "No Room For Error" by Colonel John T. Carney Jr. and Benjamin F. Schemmer. It's a good look at the guys from their beginnings to their operations in Afghanistan. And If you're still looking for something to read about the PJ's, then pick up "None Braver". I cannot mind who wrote that one, but it's another good look at the P.J.'s. But either way, I'd suggest having Combat Controllers as at least a specialist or two, if not as part of the overall team. silent_op
Thanks for the book titles rioghan_celt, I'll check them out now on amazon. jay316, Combat Controllers would be very cool, consider it. silent_op
RabidLockerGnome
Combat controllers, eh? I should've thought of that earlier....LOL....don't worry, I didn't forget about them....specialist or two? hmm....i'll see what i can do.... Release date? As Jay said....we're still pumping away. Unfortunately, university can really devour your time...Time for holiday, haha. TOML is the only mod that I've created, but you'll have to ask the other guys for theirs. The TOML website is http://toml.ghostaholic.com I'll have to update with some new screenshots, etc... The DL link for beta on there should be okay. silent_op
I understand where you're coming from with the university stuff. I need to get off this forum and get back to my physics studies. But, please don't let TOML drop away never to be seen. It really looks like it will be one the greatest GR mods to be played and remembered. silent_op

silent_op
RabidLockerGnome ::::URGENT:::: Begin>>>>>> We have a situation on hand... Last night a four man crew was shot down deep in counrty. The crew managed to escape capture. However two were wounded by small arms fire during the escape. We have reports of enemy troop movement around the crash site (most likely looking for our boys). Those men need medical attention and immediate extraction. Most of all those men need their angels from above. They need Air Force Special Operations Command's Para Rescue men, a.k.a. PJs.... That Others May Live... rioghan_celt
Not really sure how to go about this, but if a PJ is gonna help someone he needs to not only fight, but to render aid. I was thinking there needs to be a way for the team to move wounded troops. I'm racking my brain trying to remember what mod it was, but I do remember a piggyback run. Basicly the character picked up the other person and carried them, it dropped my characters kit to just a pistol. I remember it being on the Polling Center map, but cannot remember for the life of me what mod that was. Suicide Commando's been around though so he might be able to fill us in. Anyway, an escort type mission scenario would be cool. Like rescue the good guys. And then a member of your team has to carry them out. While typing this I think I might have flashed back to the right mod. You'd need to verify this, but I think that the mod I'm talking about was Operation Stabilise by AUS_Viper. Could be wrong though. I remember the replay actually showing my character carrying the other person on his back like a piggyback ride. So it can be done, and probably adjusted to a fireman's carry, or possible even a harness where maybe a two man team could drag a wounded soldier or for that matter put in a stretcher. Sorry to go off on such a tangent, but the thought struck me, and I figured I'd share! Either way, Keep up the good work, the screens look great!!! RabidLockerGnome
Hey celt, first of all thanks! I really do wish there was a way to bring more realism to TOML, but Im not really sure how.
