blakarion.
Now Ive finally cracked how to use 3ds Max (about a year of avoiding it, but FINALLY found the time and concentration to learn the basics ) Been buisy tinkering with old BMP design and have come up with a new BMP-1 version, as well as BMP-2 & BMP-2 D versions. All off which can carry a squad of troops, and have are fully armed ! Also currently working on the BDRM-2 and various variants of that, like the SA-9 and the 'Spandrel' firing ATGW version. Just need good texture to finish them off (anyone know where to find one?) And I have the three versions of Dugites Hind (attack, troop-carrier <both armed> and a ground version (for blowing up etc)) Next project - the Osprey and then a look at the T-72 and various Russian tanks ! (can alos carry 6 troops) BMP 2 D - BMP 2 variant, with twin aerials, extra armor skirts and cammo netting stored on turret (again, 6 troops carried) BRDM2 - Armoured scout car, armed with a HMG SA9 - early SAM carrier, based on BRDM design and finally a LandRover in mid-texturing (for 'Reivers' Task Force Ranger Mod) - can carry 6 inc driver <thanx to Dugite for base model> @ Jay316 : A M2 Bradley that can actually carry Troops ? Tthat was already on my list of future projects ! However, Im doing / redoing the vehicles as I need them for my Mods, so it may be a while..... Suicide Commando
Nice stuff Blakarion. I really like the variation. Be cool to encounter more than one version of a single vehicle in a mission.
blakarion.
Nice thing about having these models now, is that I can now do lots of varations and the models themselves arent large, its the tex thats the big size. Ive just finished doing a T-72A and Im working on a BTR-70, and a proper troop carrying Bradley (However having problems getting that to work in game, keeps CTD with it in). Pics to follow

DWG
BMP1 - Redone from GR, note: missile over 73mm gun (can carry 6 troops now) These all look good, but the 73mm gun tube on this one looks too narrow, it should be around half the height of the turret or two thirds the width of the missile. Suicide Commando
Yeah, DWG is right, diameter is way too small. Can't wait to see the T-72.

Suicide Commando
Nice work. I like the T-72 and the M35 the best.
BrandonKappel
Those are AWESOME!!! I've been looking for both APC's that actually carry actors and an M35 that will carry more than 8. They look great. Will these be up for seperate d/l? If not how big will Op. DarkStar be? Keep up the great work. Can't wait for that M35 to drive up and unload 13 soldiers, or for an APC to unload troops. Also, when a loaded APC is destroyed with an AT4 will the soldiers inside be killed? BTW--Off Topic--Where did you get the .chr models in you screens? Did you make them yourself? I have been looking for models almost exactly like those for a mod I'm working on. Would I be able to use them?
rcrph
Any chance of releasing the vehicles in a combined vehicles mod ?? That would really rock !!
blakarion.
What I was thinking of doing was releasing a Vehicle Mod after Op Dark Star has been out for a little while. It will contains those vehicles in OpDS AND all the others Ive done so far (and a few variants of each possibly ) BTW Ive just overhauled the vehicles in Op Dark Star after realising that almost NONE of the vehicles I had in it are actually used by the TNI (Indonesian Army) So Ive done another two vehicles to make it accurate: the AMX-13 and the LAV-150. sniper82
can you show some pics of the inside of the apc thanks.
blakarion.
The vehicles insides are not done propely, so if a player was riding in them they would have a very boring view. BUT for the Allied vehicles I will be doing I intend to make a proper interior for them, and add another layer of realism (I hope) Here are some more Pics my version of the Hummer, which can carry 3 + driver Outside Inside which needs more work on it, but you can get the idea and my V22 Osprey (not a good pic sorry) which Im having one major problem with - the left hand Rotors are NOT corretc and dont know how to make them look right. Otherwise this Model is good to go, and can transport 24 troops in game (watching them dismount is a chilling sight !) Edited October 6, 2004 by blakarion. jay316
looks great, can you make the passengers be able to shoot out of the hummer?
sniper82
some of the troop carriers insides?
Biro
What's the problem with the left rotor? I thougt rotor for choppers was only a animated texture you place on top where you wanted the rotor to be? Does it need any helperpoints? If so, check so you have placed the helperpoint in TOP viewport. Else it will mess up.
