BornToKill 0
What version of Max do you use? did you download the correct plugin for your version? If so you should find it where your primitives are (standard primitives, pulldown menu or as a button where you have "box" "cone" etc). P.s nice find Edited September 16, 2004 by BornToKill_TAW
|S&P|Papa6 0
BTK, it might be a script which you'll need to put it into your scripts folder.
BornToKill 0
K heres how, Unzip file to a folder eg "Stairs Plugin" Place "Stairs Plugin" folder into 3dsm/Plugins folder. In Max goto the Customize Tab (top bar) and select "Configure Paths" and goto the Plugins tab.Click add and direct it to your "stairs Plugin" folder. Close Max and restart. Select Geometry and where you normaly see "Standard Primitives" click the rollout and at the bottom you should now see "Effectware Stairs". Great find mate, you can create staircases with handrails in less than a minute btw make sure each step is no more than 20cm high in GR or they can't be climbed. The Worm 0
I've been using this Effectware plugin for the longest time. It's great. Just remember though that it also generates polygons for under the stair as well as the sides, that need to be detatched.
|S&P|Papa6 0
RR_GRT, the stair plugin in is nice. The only thing I can think of on a negative note, is the fact that the plugin i use for my stairs was made by that fella who worked for RSE...srry forgot his name and his plugin, tool whatever you call it was scripted to add the shermanlevelstuff. I have a copy of it somewhere on my harddrive in my GR area.
GRT 0
Javamans smart tools, it doesnt create spiral stairs. Im had it awhile ago and it never did create the sherman stuff right. http://eloso.3dretreat.com/Eloso/Downloads...wnload_Page.htm at the bottom has it.
deleyt 0
It shouldn't be too hard make stairs yourself. The only tool you need is the ARRAY-TOOL really. JAVA Tools are nice for a beginner but once the scene or the geometry get's complex, it's a waste of time. The script slows down your system drastically once the scene get's bigger. GRT 0
yea D i noticed that has well, thats another reason i had stopped using it. the stairs plugin i am using isnt a script..its like making a box but its stairs(with a hardrail ).
