qob in origmiss/model

Recommended Posts

How do you plan to get this models into your map?

It is possible in one way as far as I know, but you don't wanna do it. Create your own models...that's the way to go!!

In fact, I do not really know what these .qob files are there for(except the ones to crate dynamic grass...). If, for example, I want to have a chair in my map, do I design it together with my rooms in 3dsm or must I create such an .qob file?

I'm not sure what 100% of the .qob file are either, but some of them are destroyed objects that get replaced with a object in your map when it's destroyed. Others are weapons, grass etc.

If you for example make a chair, group it with the room it's in. So if you have a chair in an outdoor area, group it together with rest of the geometry as "_01". (without quotes").

I would recommend you to stay away from destroyable objects till you have the basic sorted out. Ask me or PM me if you have more questions.

Thanks, that's nice!

I'm not quite a newbie I think, I'm just playing around a bit at the moment.I have a lack of creativity so to say....I'm already fine with portals, shermanlevels and transitions(the most difficult for me so far), doors and so on....

Ah, there's 1 thing you can maybe help me with:

How do I get my map available in multiplayer(for deathmatch gametype)?

So far I only managed to play it as a mission.I also have the 'visit the maps' gametype installed and there I can't chose my map either.I guess the scripting in Igor is not quite correct....

You have to add all the zones for the map. Look at M01_caves in the Igor. Look at all the zones. There is some zones not needed for your map like baddies, Shack attackers, and forest sounds. But the rest are needed.

Edit also for the destructable stuff. You can tag it has a dynamic object. I did that with my radar in my SWAT Training map. In the Map Editor if you goto the Destruction tab, i set my radar to Heavy so you have to use a AT or frag to blow it up. I think Light is20 shots and it breaks into peices.
