Stinger 0
Whenever I have RealPlayer, WinAmp or Windows Media Player open at the same time (paused or playing something) as an Internet Explorer window (doesnt matter which I open first), I lose my ability to surf. At the bottom of the IE window where is displays things like Webdite Found Waiting for reply... or Opening Page... I saw this error Opening page res://C:\Windows\System32\shdoclc.dll/dnserror.htm... after refreshing still nothing. Any ideas? Yesterday I installed Norton AV 2K3 and I cant run live update when RealPlayer WinMedia or Winamp are running too. And when I try to update AdAware 6 Pro, it doesnt work right either. Thanks for any help! Edit 2- Well now when I close ZoneAlarm Pro I can listen to music and surf. But I still cant use LiveUpdate for Norton AV 2K3. Stinger 0
I'm on a different puter now. When I got to the format reinstall part that went fine. I could deleted the partition and formatted the new one just for the heck of it. So I continued to install XP and it keeps trying to get me to do the format/partition part of the setup. It doesnt understand that I already have done that crap 2 times. So I told it to quit setup and restart it. So right now XP is reinstalling I guess on my machine. Hopefully it will work. If not I'll ask more questions. I got a full day of installing stuff ahead of me though. If this fixes me problems then it will all be worth it I suppose. @DR, I guess when you restart with the XP cd in it does automatically boot from the CD drive.
Stinger 0
WOOHOO ALL is good. Record loads time, and XP is activated. All you have to do is grab the file wpa.dbl and replace the one Windows creates with your old one and it is activated. Well off to install!
Stinger 0
I take it back, my copy was not activated. So I called Microsoft, tolled them I uhh formatted and they gave me a new hey in less then 10 seconds lol. So much for their new activation process pff. Well I love this now I am free to play 3D games listen to music and do WHATEVER I want now. The first time was a "Learning Expierience" I guess. Too bad in 6 weeks I gotta format again for my new mobo
RooK 0
Stinger, where might this wpa.dbl file be located?* *Nevermind the above, got ahead of myself Edited February 22, 2003 by RooK
Stinger 0
It didn't work (wpa.dbl trick) but it is located under C:\Windows\System32\wpa.dbl A lot easier just to call Microsoft and say that you reformatted. They asked NO questions and just gave me a new number ID. lol no prob Edited February 22, 2003 by Stinger
