Introduction

Back in 2002 the well known DTD Pro Mod Team (line-up 2002: Cocobolo, Cobra6, WardenMac) released its first modification for Ghost Recon, based on the Israel Defence Forces. You might think that the first work for a new game won't be as good as latter. Wrong! The IDF mod features the same high-quality work as newer projects from DTD, like No Easy Day or the DTD Team Mod

Content

All new uniforms for all regular and specialist characters for Ghost Recon Desert Seige, and Island Thunder; new MP-Only characters;
Over 70 new weapon models;
Hundreds of new weapon kits, specialist kits, and multiplayer kits;
Over 10 new MP restrictions, including All UZI, AK vs Colt, Tavor vs Colt, all Suppressed, Snipers only, etc;
New sounds, all new kit icons, totally new splash and background screens, new interface, and all new credits screens.

Characters

Cocobolo did an awesome job on the character models and skins. A research on various IDF sites result that all characters are as close to the real world soldiers as possible. Most units of the IDF appear in this modification, the counter terror units only appear under the unlocked specialists (also Shayetet 13 combat divers, and alpine soldiers) . The standard soldiers are skinned for all 3 environments in Ghost Recon and they come with many different attachments per character. Here are pics of some.

Flashlight
Mit'znefet

A quote from Suicide Commando's No Easy Day review. It suits perfectly to this mod too: "Each rsb file really needs to be opened in Photoshop to grasp how perfect these skins truly are. Most everything contained within was not duplicated but put together from actual pictures of gear and fatigues."

Weapons

Every weapon that is listed on this site of the Israel Special Forces ( http://www.isayeret.com/weapons/overview.htm ) and even some extra variations are included in IDF 1.3. The weapons come with an enormous amount of details on the model and on the texture and my personal favourite is the IMI Tavor/M203. New sounds and reticles have also been added and they are top notch too.

The Rest

Included for the users enjoyment are new menu screens and credit images, interface and load icon. Also the arrow has been reworked. All these things make playing this modification to a new experience.

Conclusion

This mod is an oldie, but goldie! It's a must-have for every GR player. You won't find many realistic equipment mods like this with so much high-quality work included.

Overall score for DTD Israel Defence Forces 1.3 >>> 10/10

that might help you:

The IDF standard issue helmet is made in Israel by various contractors such as Rabintex, Orlite and others according to IDF specifications. The helmet is used by all Israeli security forces, including both military and civilian.

The helmet has an IDF standard issue woodland helmet cover, which attached to the helmet via Velcro, although many units make their own modified variants.

Another common helmet accessory is the "Mit'znefet" ("Clown Hat" in Hebrew), a camouflage net which is placed above the helmet in order to distort the helmet's typical rounded shape. The Mit'znefet is fully reversible - one side has woodland pattern and the other a desert pattern.

Since 2000 due to budget issues the IDF has also began issuing American made PASGAT helmets. However, the Israeli made helmet is still the more common one.

Most of the IDF helmets have level 1 protection, hence are only fragments proof. However, Counter Terror units are also issued level 3 ceramic helmets which are bullets proof. The ceramic helmets are very heavy and are used only for short duration urban operations.

Many helmets also has visors for riot control.

Great mod. I especially like the replaced weapon reports.

I'm not nit-picking, but I found a little graphical glitch, and I just thought you might like to know.

I selected a Demolitions operative, and gave him the SPAS 15 and the Micro Uzi. Here's a little pic:

I know it doesn't affect anything, but just thought you might like to know :rocky: And again, good job.

Great mod. One of my favorites. Specially like the mortars, love it when I hurl a shell over to the center of a tango camp and kill half a dozen soldiers with one blast.

Wat I find funny is that some weapons (like the Kalashnikovs and Fals) sound like singing birds when fired :P is this a bug or part of the mod?
