Chems 0
Ok so I need some R and R, want a really good FPS, but not sure what to buy, have played a little of Deus Ex2 on the Xbox and it was ok. I didnt buy it when it came out cause you guys said to wait. But then theres FarCry should I get that. Then theres Splinter Cell Pandora Tommorow, not sure about that, bit of a system hog I bet even thou my PC exceeds the requirments 2 times. I just fancy a good olde level game with puzzels shooting all the usual fun. I think FarCry mite be the best bet. What ya all think, any game I might like I havent mentioned? Recon 0
Doom 3 is a great game. I don't usually like games with monsters/aliens etc. but I like Doom 3. It also has high system requirements though.

blistr 0
If it were me I'd be getting FarCry. You definitely won't be disappointed! Doom 3 is a great game. I don't usually like games with monsters/aliens etc. but I like Doom 3. It also has high system requirements though. I agree, Doom III is a good game, the eye-candy in it is unbelievalbe. Truely screenshots don't do any justice to this game. It lacks however in that it is a very linear game, as were Doom and Doom II. FarCry on the other hand would be one of the most non-linear games I've ever played, with the exception of most RPG's. I have played it through three times now, and each time was like playing a different game. It is amazing the combination of different routes available in order to meet your objectives. Do I make a mad dash for the mounted machine gun and mow down the enemy in their tracks? Or do I blow up the fuel tank to create a diversion and sneak past without being seen (or alternatively toss in a few grenades once the enemy have gathered near the blown fuel tank)? Or do I switch to my silenced mp5 and snipe the enemies one at a time? The choices are limited by your imagination.
deadly_sniper22 0
have you thought about JO? or do you already ahve it?
Chems 0
Got a few of the DF games dont much like them I think FarCry it is for me.
Kurtz 4
I suggest trying the demo for Hidden & Dangerous 2. It's a WW2 tactical shooter, 4 man squad, character switching and squad order, a lot of fun, lot of replayability if you like WW2 games.
Daywanderer 0
I just fancy a good olde level game with puzzels shooting all the usual fun.Definitely either FarCry or Deus Ex from the ones you mentioned. Both are great games with relative open-ended gameplay (moreso in FarCry due to the more vast, outdoor areas) and plenty of shooting. I'd go with FarCry as it's not quite as stealth-oriented as Deus Ex, and it also has more emphasis on the shooting bit, whereas DX puts alot of focus on story and conversations, meaning lots of talking and extended periods without any "action" as you walk through non-combat zones. The entire FarCry world is a combat zone, with enemies everywhere and very few allies. Another alternative is, as said, Doom 3 - which really goes back to the FPS roots. Unreal 2 is also a great shooter IMO.
swartsz 7
i recently played the demo of FarCry and it looked impressing, with my new 3d card hopefully coming in the mail this week that is also a game i am thinking of buying. but i think SC PT will be also a great addittion to your collection. I bought the orginal SC a while back and loved it, great game! so i downloaded the demo of PT and was equally impressed with that one.

Finally, some one who knows what he's talking about....I mean, er....I also suggest trying out the H&D2 demo
WhiteKnight77 1
SC: Pandora Tomorrow. I just picked it up this past weekend and is awesome so far (and I am still on the first leve). First wallpaper from PT that I made.
Suicide Commando 0
H&D2 is totally awesome. Gameplay is somewhat similar to GR, maybe even more versatile. An expansion is in the works too. I'd highly recommend it.
firefly2442 0
If you like modding... far cry is the way to go.

I'd highly recommend it. Some one told me the name of the H&D2 expansion is Sabre Team.... By the time they get to H&D4, it will be based in the first gulf war.... Pyro_Monty 0
Hey dude, all you need is something to tide you over for three weeks until Half Life II is out. Deus Ex II is terrific -- very deep, very atmospheric -- but it's a fairly short game from start to finish. Looking at its current price however, it's only a tenner from Play.com. You can't really go wrong with that. If you're looking for a more pure FPS experience, then I guess Far Cry would be an obvious choice. I never did buy it though, so I can't give a proper recommendation. Now that the SDK is out for FC, there should be a great deal of innovative mods coming out that will keep you going a lot longer than Deus Ex II. How about Thief III? The demo of it was pretty fun, but it's maybe not what you're looking for. Like I say, you just want something to keep you going until HLII hits the shelves in early September. Cobblers 12
Hey dude, all you need is something to tide you over for three weeks until Half Life II is out. Is that an official release date Pyro?
Chems 0
Think so, well Ive just loaded on Lock On that massive flight sim so I will play that for a few weeks then buy HL when its out. Probably buy Far Cry off Ebay for like $9 from that tawinese dude on there.
