I think some of the maps on this game are excellent and would go down well in GR World, ones such as Can 'Tho and Halong Port always provide amzin games! Just a thought anyhow... sleeper 0 Posted August 14, 2004 Share Posted August 14, 2004 (edited) I don't own and have never played any of the Vietcong games or Battlefield Vietnam or any of the others. I've seen some screenshots here and there but other than that I have no clue what the Vietnam maps look like in these. The maps in Year of the Monkey, I am assuming, will be very different from any of these other games. They are still very much in the style of the GR maps in my opinion. Im not trying to create or emulate any other games with my maps. There are only the smallest similiarities to movie scenes and locations as well(although there are some in there of course) . I don't know if that's going to be good or bad to some people, but thats simply the way it is. I am trying to use some features that are possible but havent yet been explored in GR map making though. I hope YOTM will be released and not dropped like so many other mods lately :'( I hope there will be some "Platoon" like maps/missions. like the church or the area where the final battle takes place. Especially StreamCo-op....had some good MP co-op games on that, just me and Force (with the server locked so no-one can play, they would need a password to play) against about 30 AI enemies. Airstrike straight down the valley, clear out the VC around the riverbed....move in on cliff and take up a position to pick off remaining VC....valley locked down under a withering hail of M16A1 fire.... Halong Port is for the nade spammers, cheaters, hax0rs etc.... Swamp and Hamburger Hill from Fist Alpha are good too. Three Canyons is awesome especially on co-op (we only play on co-op, no haxors, cheaters etc come on co-op) A very good map for GR from VC would be the Crash In The Jungle (not sure what this map is actually called) single player map. That's awesome, loadsa vegetation, trees etc. Hidden VC bunkers too.... Quote Link to post Share on other sites
