I cant hear Gun sounds in game on GR. I can hear all other soundFX and music , just no gun sounds.

Whats going on?

I have a

Nforce motherboard with on board sound.

a amd athlon XP 1900 ,

a GF4 Ti4200.

(also directX 8.1 & Win98se)

Please help me. i have tried moving the sound quality slider down a notch under DirectX, but it hasn't helped one bit. : :unsure:

If i download the drivers for my motherboard - whats the chances they will work , coz 25mb is alot for a 56k-er like my self to downlaod 4 nothing.

Please can anyone help me , id apreciate it very much.

Thanks

Get the latest chipset drivers from your mobo's website and not from nVidia. Install them first. After that right click on the speaker in the system tray and select adust audio properties. Once there select the sound that is on you rmobo, click apply and see what happens. Failing that get an add-in sound card, it will help free up system resources so the game runs better.

You've probably already checked this but in the Sounds Tab under Options in "GR" there is a Slider that Controls the GunFire Volume Level. Make sure that this Slider is set so that You can hear GunFire at the Level that is comfotable in "GR". It'll sample the GunFire as You move the Slider up and down searching for a GunFire Sound Level that You like.
