Aggressor Posted February 21, 2003 Share Posted February 21, 2003 I have never cheated when playing MP, its bad enough that people cheat in every day aspects of real life but in a video game too, come on I have used some of the codes for SP (where chickens explode(too funny) , and people have big heads or something like that) I also used them when I got stuck in certain areas, etc. That's just an easy way out especially if you get fustrated and it feels nice to beat a computer with help once in a while Just my two cents. Dick Splash Posted February 22, 2003 Share Posted February 22, 2003 What's the point? It doesn't enhance a game, it doesn't improve your gaming and.....it tends to upset a lot of people. I got sick of DF2 because of cheats. They called them 'Trainers'. Being the victim of unlimited autonades being fired from the sky by an invisible enemy doesn't appeal. Fotunately I've not come across anyone cheating in GR yet. Probably because I don't play on public. However, the downside to this is that it greatly reduces ones chance to play online! SP games (Max Payne, GTA3, The Thing) once i have beaten them and just want to mess around i will get cheats like unlimted ammo, all guns and superman codes to just run and gun. and like a lot of people, Delta Force 2 kind of turned me off FPS games for awhile due to all the cheating that was going on. n1nja Posted March 20, 2003 Share Posted March 20, 2003 Well tonight i think i was accused of 'cheating'. I've never knowingly cheated but was told to stop 'glitching', its a strict no-no. When i asked what it was they wouldn't tell me. I don't know if the person thought i was pretending to not know what glitching was but i had honestly never heard of it before tonight. I don't believe in cheating in a game, purely because ITS A GAME!!! have a laugh, mess about and have fun but don't take it so serious your looking for a way to never die, kill people on sight and basically not even need to play to win. I think i might have misunderstood but I was a wee bit ###### off at the glitching comment as i didn't, and still don't, use anything that anyone else can't do in a normal, off the shelf game. In Rogue Spear you can only crouch or stand, but in Ghost Recon you can lie down, which i did, and crawl. Now in order for me not to have done this glitching thing, i would have had to have crawled across a field, knelt to go through a ditch then crawled some more. I honestly can't see the problem in someone crawling through a ditch during a game. I've read some of the posts about glitching and agree about some of the things but surely you would crawl in a ditch to avoid being shot?? I took it too personal and read it wrong and i don't think it helped that i didn't know what it was i was meant to have done. Anyway, to answer the original post, i have never knowingly cheated, although found out tonight that i may be guilty of glitching before!!! But, unfortunately there are people out there who dont know about the problem with the craters. These people can unknowingly glitch, and cuase all sorts of problems. This will always be an issue in GR as it is part of the game code and so very easy to do. I just hope that as each person learns about glitching that they thne in turn tell others. Maybe one day you wont hear "Get out of that glitch you cheater" being shouted over all chat in the middle of a battle.
