But never cheated on multiplayer, not even used the NV mod. Don't see the point in it myself. You can't feel like you've achieved anything surely?! Also because I dont even know how you go about doing it.( Nor do I wanna know how) Yes Ive used passwords/codes/cheats/whatever/you/fancy/calling/them,on quick mission.Mostly to see what they do,and to practice the various pros an cons of each gun. one last thing,i never knew that chickens and squirrels blow up and that god is a vengeful one( lay down and he taunts you! lol). Thats all, unless you mean cheating online by glitching, then im guilty of not know I was doing it in the first place,but i figured it out on the red square when no one could kill me in the crater. now i stay away from the craters . I think we can safely assume that 99% of us who frequent these forums dont need to cheat, either because we play well enough without it, or because we feel it is morally wrong in a game where trust in your fellow player is one of the most important things we have. I dont think i have ever played in a game where someone has blatantly cheated, or if i have i have not been aware of it, but then i only play in servers that i know and trust so maybe thats the reason. I havent got the unlimited playing time available to some players, i play when i get the chance and my other commitments allow me (like most of you) so when i want a game i go to whichever server is up and runnning that i know, and i dont have to worry about cheats, bad manners or any of the other things which can spoil the game.. The only time I have ever 'cheated' in games is when I've been stuck at a point in the game I've spent the last hour trying to get through. Only then will I venture out into the cheaters websites to look up a walk through to get me throught that problem only (and I usually find out the bit I'm stuck at follows no logical sense - something like I have to insert a banana found back at level 2 into the keyhole because its a bit stuck due to rust - something stupid like that). However on SP games it's up to you how you want to play them and sometimes it can be fun to use the guys who have the laser guns in age of empires just to see them kick ###### lol (and no i haven't used them but seen them in action). As for online cheating, well if ever you played Delta force in the public servers you'll know why I want every cheater stripped of his skin and flayed alive. Jex. But i, like many people have inadvertantly crawled onto a bunker/ditch ledge and glitched. Every time this has happened i have apologised to everyone on the server. Unfortunately beacuse of the coding in the game, this is something that you cant always avoid. As a general rule of them though, now, whenever i play on a map with bunkers/ditches i NEVER go prone near them. I crouch, but never go prone, thus hopefully avoiding any unfortunate incidents. As for SP... As a kid i did cheat on SP when i got stuck, but that practise i stopped several years ago, as i realised that using a god/ammo/health cheat on SP was stopping my level of enjoyment and skill progressing. By buying a game, then cheating to complete it, ive waisted my money. What pride can i take in cheating myself? Plus, to get good at a game, your skill level will never increase if you've relied on a cheat every time you get stuck, even on SP. Oooooohh where do i begin. lol Glitches - u can poke the barrel of ur gun through a wall and shoot people inside, lay clays through walls, hide in certain trees (yes in the trunk) see people on the otherside of certain hills (basically steep hills) Cheats were worse. x75 zoom (for those that haven't played the DF series you basically have maps that go on for ever so a big zoom is useful if your camped 2000m away with a barret) Speed cheat - run fast knife cheat - auto kill people with knife from afar (u got more points for a knife kill) teleport cheat see people on map cheat one cheat where u could lie down in a house or behind a hill but you saw the surrounding area as if you were 100 foot in the air above your pos. and you could fire too. I'm sure there's more and EDITEDwere they annoying. They'd run round a super speeds super killing everyone and then I'm sure in some weird i'm-a-complete-useless-gimboid-nerdy-geekoo-crappypantsplayer kinda way they actually thought they had won the match because they had the most points. I still cannot work out why people cheat in games other than the fact that they have inferiority complexes or are just out to annoy other people. Yodasplat Posted February 21, 2003 Share Posted February 21, 2003 MP cheating is unforgivable of course. The question shouldn't even be asked. I see no big problem in SP cheating. What you do in your off-line privacy is no-one else's business. I have used cheats to unlock all missions in R6, RS and GR in order to be able to practice the levels and missions for MP. Of course it wouldn't make sense (for me) to use cheats to finish a mission (once unlocked) considering that there's no other reason for me to play a mission other than practice for multiplayer... but to each his own IMO.
