muaddib7 0
Hi guys I have been trying for some time to make my set of command maps. I want to create full color (either real color or pseudo-infrared) maps for the missions. For example change the single color command maps of the original GR missions to a version bundled with the DS and especially the IT missions. My first effort was the maps from battleborne. I opened igor and clicked on the option to create a command map but the output was pathetic. Having some good photoshop skills I started exploring the texture folders and while I found the texture for the basis of the map, there are still black holes in the bitmap, where GR places buildings etc. The only procedure that produced a good result was to alter the .env for the mission to alter temporarily the fog, maxspot and farplane settings (for night missions also turn to day), go to igor and zoom out on the 3d view, take a screenshot, go to photoshop and using the original map for a basis, crop, transform and overlay the new bitmap. This procedure has produced a nice output but it is lengthy and requires nitpicking at the transformation stage because it is difficult to set up properly the viewpoint at igor and the screenshot is skewed. Has anybody else found any other procedure? Happy Gaming
hartog 0
Well you did what could be done with the maps from RSE. most of the "detialed" command maps are taken from a rendering in 3dsm by the map maker, at least that is how i do it. there is a PDF in the extra folder on your IT or DS cd that tells how to make command maps based on 3dsm and all that. but you have found they way to do it with out the max file. just keep on going.
