Alfa FSB Posted February 20, 2003 Share Posted February 20, 2003 (edited) Afther all this time of playing and modding Ghost Recon i have begun to filosofize on it to really think of it as a game as you would do with a poem. Think of aspects like realism of skins,models,location,missions Land warrior system.no one will in the next years will beat GR or GR2 as the most realitic squad based first person shooters(except RvS). Saw a short documentary about the US and German "Land Warrior " programs and i saw how a soldier uses the Heads Up Display the mini monitor on the right eye of Jacobs and Cohen know what it apears on the right part of the monitor just how you would pull it down in real life and give orders or request something it just struck me i neve thinked of why it apeared on the right part of the monitor. The acual control is done by a mouse found on the left of a soldiers chest look at the model of Jacobs it`s there. The soldier has a digital map and/or photos a cursor easy to use interface like a menu for CAll->Emergency->Medic->Air Evac click and a mission is sent to your location data from sattelites,UAV,other land warror soldiers,tanks anything linked to the system i would give 300$ for Ghost Recon 2 if it had a more parts of the land Land Warrior system. Actualy the menus were similar to the GR ones and the simbols were too. P.S: for the llama guy tell me of another game more realistic than GR. I guess I just never thought about it too much Well I guess the Llama guy only has one realism thing going for him, when you give orders it says it over the radio,BUT,how do you have time to talk on a radio when the action is that crazy-while firing a gun-mid jump-and crouching? They have radios like policeman don`t know how they are called the speaker/microphone is located on the left shoulder of almost all soldiers in GR. Well the OICW has lazer range finders and can be used to also be used for GPS. Too bad when a enemy appears on the map,you cant switch to the GL and be shown the directin and height to aim your gun and rain grenades down on a distant enemy. You shoulda said its a laser range finder used to paint a person, then say you look at the enemy and when you see them type in fire. Shortly a air strike will come.
