Huck 0
OK, bear with me coz this is going to be a bit long. The story goes as such: I bought GR (just GR, not gold ed. or some expan. or something) about a year ago, installed it, played it (game was at version 1.0.0.2 at start), and after a while downloaded the patches (1.3 and 1.4) and tried to apply them. No good! after I applied the 1.3 patch the game asked me for the GR CD when it was already in the drive! I thought applying the 1.4 patch right after would get rid of the problem, but no. I tried a million and one things after but it was the same story everytime. I contacted the Ubi Soft GR tech help and they pretty much blew me off. I decided to take the help of the company that distribut the game in my country. They told me they were experiencing the same problems applying the patches and that Ubi isn't helping them either. After all hopes were lost I decided to apply a [Thing that should not be spoken of here] that I found on some site, which deprived me the ability to host games and created several screw-ups in multiplayer (I think the animated icon says it all). For God's sake, did anyone but me experience this type of thing? And can someone help, please? My system specs: Windows 98, GeForce 4 mx 440, 256 MB RAM, 2.0 Ghz CPU Intel, latest drivers. I got the English ver. of the game. and I tried the game on Win XP, and got the same patch problem. Help would be much appreciated Thanx Edited July 25, 2004 by Huck
WhiteKnight77 1
Completely uninstall GR and use a regular CD-ROM to install, and play the game from. Even after patching, use the regular CD-ROM and not a burner of any sort.
Huck 0
That's what I did in the first place.
blistr 0
I noticed a similar thing after installing DS & IT. GR does not recognise the original GR disc anymore, only the DS & IT disc's You may need to invest in the DS & IT expansion packs to patch up to v1.4. If the game distributor is experiencing the same problems you are chances are there is no fix for the problem other than installing the expansions. GR Gold can be purchased relatively cheap now and you won't be disappointed with the 2 expansions
Huck 0
Actually, I thought of buying the expansions regardless of the problem, but couldn't find it anywhere. I live in Israel and the expansions to GR aren't big news here, much like most R6 expan.
blistr 0
Here's a link for Ghost Recon Gold Edition on eBay (US). This auction was the cheapest I could find and ends in 5 days. I'm not sure if they ship to Israel but you could always ask them
Serious Damage 0
Maybe you've got the bundle version of GR that comes with MSI's GeForce graphics card. That's what I have with the same problem. There is a patch to address this problem but I haven't found it yet since Ubisoft's support site is not responding. If you can find it let me know, I need it, too!
