blackhawkjonah
im a vehicle noob lol, my model sits kinda half underground and on a funny angle, i found out it was facing the wrong way down the x-axis, so i spun it all around and its still sittin gumby, and when i shoot the tyres it does some breakdancing spinning and loopin all wierd like. anyone help? and am i able to assign an idle wav to it? SnowFella
Think part of your problem might be that rotation you did, did you do that one before or after you placed any helper points? If you placed them before you rotated your mesh (and helpers) alot of things would end up weird, this is asfar as I understand exporting. Helpers needs to be placed in the top viewport because they need to be in a certain allignment. As for the vehice sitting halfway down in the ground make sure the bottom most par of your mesh is flush with the 0 origin in 3DSM. The idle .wav should be hardcoded for what type of vehicle it is and is assigned by the .vcl file. Snow
blackhawkjonah
i deleted all the helpers points and put them in again and re exported, the body faces the correct way now but does backflips about the Y axis lol, im sure ive done everything correct, need a vehicle guru to take a look at it for me and see if they can work it out
Biro
Check so you have the corretc names on helperpoints at each wheels and correct names on those other helperpoints there aswell.
blackhawkjonah
yep all names are correct and on the correct wheels etc. ###### of a thing lol
Biro
Well, I'm pretty sure something is wrong with your helper points. Delete all of them, make sure your vehicle has the front down the X-axis (So the front of the vehicle face in the positive way on the axis. That should be with the front to the right in the top viewport.) Then place all of you helper points over again and do it in the top viewport. Adjust it manually in the other views after that. blackhawkjonah
ok redid all the helpers, i wasnt aware of having to do them inthe top viewport, when i did them again it worked so thanks for that, next prob lol, at the moment i can walk thru my model in the game, how do i make it collidable, the "not collidable" box ISNT clicked, so it must be somethin else
SnowFella
I realised this just after turning the computer off last night and I'm not a 100% sure if it would create your perticular problem but here goes. When checking the .max file I noticed that your group naming is alittle off, for example your main body group is called <n><body> and not <n><body>***** (with the ***** being your own unique name for the vehicle. You also don't have a group containing the body and wheels (atleast not in my copy of the .max file, this should be called <n>****** In case you have amination added to your model all groups should have <ian> added to the end, ie <n><ian>****** and <n><body><ian>****** . SnowFella
did you put a ^seat0 point at the drivers seat and an ^eject0 point outside the driverside door?
blackhawkjonah
ok i did have a seat0 but apparently it was too high lol i lowered it a little and now it works, finished skinning and everything works sweet.. i named it truck_hrtVY.pob for the model and truck_hrtVY.vlc for the vehicle file and its tagged as a truck, the only other thing i need is to know what to name my sound file or whatever else is required to make the engine idleing noise
BornToKill
If its a truck in the vehicle editor in Igor it will make the truck sound ingame thats it.
