Hi all.

I am in need of the farm map with daylight. I found ph's mod where he has made a farm day map. Only there aren't any trees there.

Now I was thinking I dont reall need the trees, now it looks like a toendra (is that an english word also?), but if anyone know a farm day map with all things as in the original I would be really happy.

Now I was curious which files I need to add to my own mod to make the map work correctly. Or is it only the map I need.

And secondly, before I do this I need to ask him if I can use the Map he made. Does anyone know how to get in contact with him. I cant find any email or other info.

he foxhound,

have you checked the "THE FARM" map of Alphasquad's Biro???

it's great.

and as far as ph's mod, I don't need it, but typically, check the readme.txt and also, check whether you can find a topic somewhere in this forum where he announces the release of that mod. you could then PM him. For the files you need, since I don't know this mod, if it's only a map mod, you'd need practically every file in there. Otherwise, you'd have to check which files you need(check for hints in filenames) typically, you'd need textures(usually found in a textures folder or the map folder), a commandmap(in commandmaps folder), a skybox (in modelfolder?), and briefingshots, mapshots and overviewmap found in the Briefingsfolder.

this is where you would usually find the files needed, no garantees tho

good luck Dutchie!

Try making some night2day/day2night conversions yourself, it's very easy.

Look for the lighting-tool on the ITcd.

Open the map, delete all lights, add your own, save it, done.

Oyeah fporgot : maybe change some textures to fit the lighting ! (like the ground texture is used for shadows).

Well I really havent a clue what you are talking about, I never tried to mod maps but since I think I am ready for it, and I got 3dsmax 4, tutorials and manuals I will give it a go.------>opening IT cd :D

Thanks all for the help :D

@chiel mic. Yeah that map is great but it doesnt fit my camaign right now. I think I can use it later on :D

BTW just one more question. What is the best thing to start with when learning 3dsmax. The manual for the program itself or all GR tutorials cause those really focus at GR map making.

What is the best thing to start with when learning 3dsmax

1. creating basic geometry and modifying it.

2. add mapping to the geometry.

3dsm Help is where I got most basic knowledge, GR tutorials/pdf's is the next step.

I started a year or something ago with map modding (so basicly i know sjiz about it !), but what I did is followed =SEALZ=Papa6's tutorial (after Mike Schell's on how to setup 3dsm).

I created a patchgrid (plane) for the ground, gave it a texture (mapping) and tagged it as a floor, grouped it as _1 (room 1(outside room)), merged scenecenter and exported as map-file.

Then I made the env file & the mis file and I run it in game, that was a good feeling (my first map (just a flat ground !)).
