porschefan8 0
I think I have the basic concepts of mapmaking down, and would like to make a forest map with a creek and a mansion. However, when I use boxes to make the rooms, I would need 2 boxes, one for the inside of the room and one for the outside. Can anyone share their methods for making rooms / buildings?? thanks in advance.
GRT 0
Make a box then clone that and change the size to .2 below for length, width, and height (if its 19.00 do 18.8 or would that be .7). In the modifiers put a Normal modifier on the inside one so the walls show inside. Then for the outside box you can edit mesh and delete the bottom side of the box since you wont see it. deleyt 0
Since a room doesn't always have to be box-shaped, I always use an extruded shape. Easiest way is to lay out a flat plan made up by all these shapes and when you're done extrude them and boolean out the doors and windows. Here's an EXAMPLE of a 2D plan that I used for White-Skull Valley to model the villa. (simply download and import using .dwg-format in 3D Studio)
