I was following the nice tutorial by Ruin, cos i havent export anything in ages and i was kinda rusty.

1) Make sure the textures are exactly how you want them. UVW Mapping and everything is correct.

2) Click on a body part, (I personally use the Torso). In the Modify panel, click on “Editable Mesh” and scroll down the panel until you see the button “Attach List”.

3) Select all the parts, and click “Attach”

4) When the menu comes up about the material IDs, click the one in the middle: Match Material to Material IDs

For some reason, the POW mesh has its torso mapping all weird (like number 1).

After a half hour of mapping and unwraping i finally got it like number 2.

But once i follow the steps above..., it gets back to number 1 and i just cant export him like that...its ugly.

Am i missing something?????

This is a total guess so save before you try it but...Collapse the torso before you attach everything.

Edit: Ok I tried this quick with just a cube and cylinder each with their own Unwrap UVW modifiers with different textures. I found that using the cube as you would your Torso, going back in the modifier stack to attach the rest of the character (the cylinder) gives you that warning message (as I thought it would). After attaching the rest of the character (the cylinder) the cube lost its mapping. If I first collapsed the the cube and then attached the cylinder all was well.
