Does this reticule work? has it been tested?

I mean, I've been pretty good with nades (sometimes it takes a 1-round adjust, but usually on the mark), so just curious, but pretty cool looking.

recommend PhotoBucket it's free, and offers 100MB's of space

thanks for the info :)

yes it works, since I figured out what part of the reticle you have to aim with for the different ranges, and then added the numbers and lines in the correct spots.

Just tested it out...

It don't work playing on my Mac is my verdict. I swapped to my grenade launcher and low and behold theres not even a reticle now. lol. I dunno it might have to do with the texture type or something (I used to know) something about alpha channeling yada yada yada. Looks like a good idea IMO though ;)

For Mac users u'll need to save Alpha texture in A4R4G4B4 or A8R8G8B8 rsb format.

Yeah, thats it. @ Porsche, I tried it both ways (replacing reticle_gl.rsb or whatever and just changing the m203.gun file) but neither way works so I'm thinking its just the way the texture is saved.

Has anyone else tried the reticule out? How is it?

No offense, but i've seen calibrated retics in mods already. Yours looks great, it's just been done already.

none taken.

just changing the m203.gun file)

try making a copy of the M16/M203, change the reticle with notepad instead of IGOR and put the gun and reticle files it in a mod.

For some reason IGOR doesn't always actually change what it shows to have changed, thats why you should try it using the way I said above, with notepad.

hope this helps

I'd say the reason why IGOR doesn't always make the changes it says it should is that you are trying to change a read only file. If the .gun file you are working on is write protected (and all the original files in GR are) IGOR won't warn you about it or anything even if you make changed and click the "Apply" button. All will seem peachy when you do it but once you fire up GR to test it out no changes will have been made.
