rdtreas
I just bought the expansion Island Thunder(Xbox) and the m4 socom doesn't seem to be silenced all the time, why does it switch? Edited June 24, 2004 by rdtreas
simplesuperman
how does it switch, u mean by sound or something?
Private B
Its suppressed, so tangos can still hear you outside 30m, well atleast in the PC version it does...
rdtreas
When I am firing it will sometimes it will not make a sound(unless you hit an object like a tree or rock) and sometimes it won't be silenced..... what causes the switch from silenced to unsilenced? STU_Snake
check that your cables going into your TV are connected right, your game could just be shorting out......
rdtreas
no, it doesn't have anything to do with the cables. The game still makes all sound effects, but the M4 Socom is not always silenced. Why is it not ALWAYS silenced? and what causes it to swtich back and forth.....
supasniper
it is always silent but it seems like the sound doesn't always play
SeMpEr_Fi
alright guys for those of you who have never seen an M4....when u make Recon (force recon a division in the Marines) you have the option of getting a suppresor on your M4...its not exactly a silencer but it does supress the sound some...now on the MP5 that is an actual silencer which is why its real quiet. Loot
alright guys for those of you who have never seen an M4....when u make Recon (force recon a division in the Marines) you have the option of getting a suppresor on your M4...its not exactly a silencer but it does supress the sound some...now on the MP5 that is an actual silencer which is why its real quiet. What? I've played the console version of IT and when you hear the sound that is supposed to be the silenced m4 socom firing, when you dont hear any sound at all that means the game is glitching, which is a problem with the console version of IT, i dunno why some of the sounds do that. rdtreas
It seems like the gun has a mind of its own, why didn't they just give you the option to take the silencer off, like most other games to make it easier
Sup
Perhaps because taking a silencer off of a gun loaded with subsonic ammo is just plain dumb.
Loot
I think its just a general bug in the xbox port of the game itself. I was playing the Xbox version today playing swamp airfield and the M4 (unsilenced) and the sound kept glitching and going in and out. Oddly enough you can hear the bullet's "whump" when you hit a guy from really far away sometimes as well.
thehunter1
redtreas....I've had the same issue....I'll be rockin and rollin in the midst of combat and all of a sudden boommmm!!!! Even the SAW goes silent. Its a silence like where you only hear the shells hitting the ground as you fire. At first I thought it was a silenced weapon but when it occured while I was jamming with the SAW it was freaky. If anyone can offer any ideas on how this works, then this little feature/glitch is KICKASS kool while fighting. any ideas ???? outthere23e
umm - might this be when a grenade goes off and your hearing gets blown out for a few seconds? This is very different than having the weapons go silent....not sure, but this is the only time i have had anything like that happen. insane snyper
I have this happen in GR1 for PC all the time. But one thing. Everyone keeps talking about how you thought the total lack of sound meant the weapon was silenced, but at least in PC versions (and certainly in real life) even silenced guns are not silent. They are just quiet.
