BlueRose_76 0
Yesterday i went to the airshow of the Koninklijke Luchtmacht (also known as Klu, Royal Dutch Airforce). There were some nice pieces of militairy aviation in the static show and some demo's of the "Luchtmobiele Brigade", a special airborne rapid intervention force of the Klu. German Tornado, Navy demostration plane: France Mirage F2000: German Phantom: USAF, Klu C130: British Royal Navy Harrier: The Joint Stike Fighter, the replacement of the F16 for the Klu. Gosh it so ugly. Taken my tax payments into account im the proud (?) owner of 0,000001% of this plane JSF: Demo of the british Red Arrows: Demo of the "Luchtmobiele Brigade", landing and securing of a hostile airfield with light infantry. First there was a bombardement with F16's and Apache recons, now the force comes in with cougars and light, non-armoured vehicles. Demo Luchtmobiele Brigade, on the airfield. In background landing: of Hercules with light armoury after the securing. Fly by of the Klu, DC10-tanker and F16, cougars, chinooks, and apaches: Apache, static show: INFLATEBLE F16: Me and my minimi. Trying to aim with an 10kg FN minimi with 8x scope in standing position. Now i understand the muscle thing in the SF.

BlueRose_76 0
Thanks. To bad i hadnt got the right equipment with me to take some pics of them in air. Its keeps amezing me seeing a big bird as a F15 flying very slowely by, almost stalling. Also seeing a Harrier flying in reverse as a car in parking manoeuve is fun. TeXaN 0
Heh i bet . They got this lil airshow down here and last year they had An F-16 and a P-47 flying together kinda neat seeing the jet trying not to stall and the lil p47 just trying to keep up . Then they had the B2 bomber fly over and damn is that thing QUIET AND BIG , you cant even hear it till its already flown over a couples ago
GothicSnake 0
Yea I was shocked by how quiet the stealth planes are when I first saw them a few years ago at Macdill. It would figure, though, that a plane thats invisible to radat would also be invisible to the ears until its right on top of you, and by then it's too late. Very nice pics, btw, BlueRose...I've never had the chance to play with a SAW , lucky ######. Edited June 20, 2004 by GothicSnake

Chems 0
That Harrier, thats one of the rarer T2 Trainers with 2 seats, and its in Black like the Hawks from Valley shows its a trainer, thou they can all be used in combat as well. (we dont have enough planes to spare except the few at Empire) That apache, few of the rockets are missing from its pod, think it fired a few on its way or something? BlueRose_76 0
That apache, few of the rockets are missing from its pod, think it fired a few on its way or something? Wish it did . Well, no they were displayed (you can see one in the pics) along with other ammo in front of the chopper. And btw, if you look closely to the pic you see some strange pieces of metal on the second canopy near rotor, on wheels and a small one on the nose in between the two bulbs. Those are cable cutters. In combat they doesnt seem to notice them in all the action, now if flown into they will be cutted, saving they choppe from going down. Pretty low-tec for such a piece of technic.
