WytchDokta 6
Erm, does anyone know if Alienware (UK) accept Solo? What I might do is order my new rig off them but I can't if they don't accept solo. I'm looking around their site now see if I can find out thwat cards they accept but I can't find nothing on the subject.... I think the only way to see is to place an order with them, I ain't ready to place the order yet! If if get Alienware, I will truly have the ultimate rig! (much more "ultimate" than your rigs ha!) WytchDokta 6
What methods of payment do you accept? Alienware® accepts the following forms of payment: i. Visa, Master Card ii. Wire Transfer Oh well, I'll just have to get that ThermalTake Xaser III Lanfire aluminiun midi tower case. Shame it don't come with a power supply, but I can fix that. magnumkp 0
I wouldn't get it off Alienware, although they are tweaked and look good, they are wildly over priced for what you get.
WytchDokta 6
Mesh Computers are well cheap and top quality, seriously. With Mesh ya can upgrade the normal graphics card to a Radeon 9800XT for £85, most other companies charge alot more to upgrade it (mainly like £150+). Check it out: Mesh Computers The problem is, Mesh also don't accept Solo. So looks like I'll be sticking with the ThermalTake Xaser III Lanfier aluminium midi tower case....but it also means, I gotta buy a power supply for it!
Avey 0
I got a Mesh
magnumkp 0
My computer is from MESH and it is okay. No problems apart from the 28 days I had to wait for it to be delivered. And then at midday on the friday it was to be delivered they called saying it hadn't gone out that day and I had to wait until Monday. To be honest I don't know of any company that accepts Solo cards any more, and over the last few years I've worked with a few. Even the ones that can accept it, often don't mention it on their web site as usually they are owned by kids. Get yourself a proper credit/debit card, it will make life much easier. (he says looking at this months credit card bill).
WytchDokta 6
Special Reserve accept solo. Maybe I could look into getting another credit card.... which credit card u guys recommend?
WytchDokta 6
Thing is with Mesh pc's, imo, they're ugly. If I get Mastercard or whatever, I could transfer all my money over. The I could get an Alienware rig on buy now pay in six months scheme. Anyways, why do they say "buy now, pay in six months"....if you're buying it, you ARE paying for it, so it's the same thing. You could say "pay now, buy in six months" it would mean exactly the same thing
magnumkp 0
See if you can pay by cheque. It's possible, although you will have to wait the 5 days it takes to clear into their account. Give the company a call. As for credit cards, I've got a Visa. However, what only matters is the interest you pay on the money loaned to you if you do not pay it back quick enough. Doesn't bother me as I pay it off straight away and I usually use my debit card. A debit card the money goes straight out of your account (unless you haven't got the funds in their and you get the embarassing pause and then "I'm sorry sir but I am unable to debit your account"). It is possible you have to be over 18 to own a credit or debit card, which is why they introduced Solo cards (and in turn is why they are not that widely supported). Speak to your one of the nice people in the bank, or arrange a short appointment and you can sign up there and then.
WytchDokta 6
I'm 18, almost 19. I may go with one of the credit cards, Visa/Mastercard. I'll go down the bank tomorrow and get some info. Then, on saturday, I'll go sort it all out.
Cpl Ledanek 247
I considered Alienware, until they started popping up in BestBuy (US). So being unique was out of the question. Then couple magazine mentioned about them voiding warrantys bcoz of the tweaks they do. I ended up a plain case (grey) case Mach V from Falcon-NW. At the time (7yrs ago) its bells n whistle inside with a "plain" case . Still runs stable. I got what I paid for. My newer PC cost half the price of Falcon-NW, with oem parts from Newegg. The old farts in here convinced me to make my own, not dissappointed at all. Payment issue. Get a credit card that earns you points or mileage. I got Mastercard, and I get a free plane ticket once every 3 yrs...thanks for gasoline prices good luck bro
WytchDokta 6
I know Mesh are really good 'puters, but to me they look ugly. All black to me is boring, like all beige. I want silver. Mesh only do 'em in black. Looks at Tiny.com website....OMG!! Tiny computers are helluva lot cheaper than Mesh. This one, you get twice as much stuff as Mesh rig for the same price! This one got a 400MB hard drive as standard (standard Mesh HD is like 120MB i think). Edited June 11, 2004 by [Wx] .:Nightmare:.

magnumkp 0
Whatever the hell you decide to get, don't go with Tiny/Time. They make some of the worst computers out there, regardless of cost. My friend once had to provide support 800 of them for a community project. Not fun.
WytchDokta 6
I hear Tiny.com got lousy customer service anyways. Time took over Tiny didn't they? I'm just looking around for now. Hmmmm....looks like it's gonna have to be Mesh. WytchDokta 6
Ah man, sometimes I wonder why I bother. I just been down the banks. What a waste of time that was too. Lloyds weren't interested in giving me an account for Visa or Mastercard. Mainly due to the fact that at the mo' I'm unemployed....I been living here since May 04 and I still looking for a job. Local employers just chuck away my application form cuz of my low GCSE and A-Level grades. It ain't my fualt that my grades are low! I had family problems at the time when my GCSE's were coming up. Same thing when my A-Levels were coming up. Freaking employers, why can't they understand that? Any, now back to the heavyweight jam. The woman in Lloyds tried to give me a current account with and Electron card. Nice one. Not. I already got a blimmin current account (with another bank), I don't need another one! Fair enough, alot of places accept Electron, moreso than Solo (I on Solo right now, no-one accepts Solo no more), in fact I don't think some of these computer companies accept Electron. Just gimme Mastercard or Visa. Why do people always gotta be awkward? Tried to give me some student account thingy too....I ain't no student foo'!! Just cuz I 18 (almost 19 infact) don't mean I'm a student now does it? Jeez, what's the matter with people these days? Anyways, afterwards I headed straight over to NatWest and picked up some leaflets. Looking though the leaflet, I can get Mastercard or Visa with them (provided I gots a job first). I may soon have a job anyways, I can back to the old skool. My manager at the airbase said I can go back there, they need me back there anyway cuz they short on staff right now. So I thinking about going back, but doing so depends solely on one thing - passing my driving test which, incidently, is on monday. Third time around this is, I hope it's third time lucky for me. I do hope I gets past that driving test this time. If I pass the driving test, I would be able to go back to the airbase the very day. Seriously, they'd have me back that quick. Like I say, sometimes I wonder why I bother. I really do.
[TCS]BlackMamba 0
Best computers in the world all your need now is £26000 for the best PC and £18000 for the 92" wrap around screen. go-l
WytchDokta 6
WHOA! Blimmin' 'eck, you seen the price of them Mach computers [TCS]BlackMamba? Lowest priced rig there is $3999.99 Jeez, man, I ain't got that kind of money *goes off to do an armed robbery on the bank* I looking at what cards Mesh accept, it says: Credit Card - Visa Credit Card - Mastercard Credit/Debit Card Debit Card - Switch Ok, so what does the "Credit/Debit Card" one mean? Solo is a debit card. Do Mesh take Solo
Crimson 0
The debit card takes the money right out of your account. Credit is like a monthly payment, with interest if you dont pay it all off at the end of the month. Is that what you're asking? Why not just give them a call/email and ask if they take this "Solo" thing.
WytchDokta 6
I know the difference between credit card and debit card!! I want to know why they have got the list like so: Credit Card - Visa Credit Card - Mastercard Credit/Debit Card Debit Card - Switch On the third one down, it don't say what time of credit/debit card. I want to know if "Credit/Debit Card" means they accept other cards than Visa, Mastercard and Switch.
