How to make a map serverside?

Recommended Posts

I've made a bunch of maps (not mods) that have actors, weapons etc. from other mods.

(this was when I first started using Igor and didn't know better)

and if I run a server when the map starts, of course, the other players crash.

Any way to make them server side, or

if not, how do I make them serverside when I create them, if thats possible?

Thanx

Generally speaking missions that are created using Origmis, MP1 or MP2, or a combination of any of them, are considered serversided when they reside in the applicable mission directory. It is when you create custom files that others don't have that they become no longer server sided. Of course they can also be considered serversided even when using a 3rd party mod, as long as everyone has the mod.

To ensure that your mission remain servided when you make them, ensure that you only have retail mods active before you open Igor.

Just to clarify, Maps can never be serversided, everyone who plays must all have the map.

But it's only your terminology that is incorrect in this context.

In Ghost Recon a Map is the Terrain, Buildings, Tree's Etc and as Jack says what you are talking about here is missions (the .mis file) that is the scripting that is based on a map.

So long as the scripting doesn't use anything outside the standard GR/DS/IT then the mission can be serversided (IE only the host requires it).
