Crimson 0 Posted May 30, 2004 Share Posted May 30, 2004 Found a quick way to find out what your IP address is for XP users. 1.) Create a new text document on your desktop. 2.) Open it up and type in: cmd /k ipconfig 3.) File | Save As 4.) Where it says "Save as Type:" move the selection to "All Files." 5.) Where it says filename type in something like My IP.bat then click save. You should get a batch file on your desktop. Double click it you'll see your IP addy. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
Dannik 43 Posted May 30, 2004 Share Posted May 30, 2004 Just a reminder: If you are on a LAN at home or even using xDSL (for most), this will be hit and miss. Folks mentioned above likely have private IP's only or at least two, one being valid for public use, the other for LAN use. If the batch file returns an IP starting with 192 or 168, disregard, and use the second (if there is one) IP. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
