Crimson 0
Ugh, help. I cannot boot into Safe Mode to delete a couple of .exes. I press F8 from startup time until the login screen, and nothing happens. I could of sworn this was the key I used awhile back. What others can it be?
Crimson 0
Ok, I got into Safe Mode by using msconfig, and still couldnt delete the file. Is there a program of some sort that deletes crap like this?
firefly2442 0
Is the program running? Is that why you cannot delete it? If so, do a force quit on the program and try deleting it.
Crimson 0
No, it's not running, which is why I thought all Id need to do was to delete it from Safe Mode. I've yet to get rid of it.
firefly2442 0
Did you try deleting it from a DOS window? I think someone posted here a while back and that did the trick.
Crimson 0
No, because I dont know how.
firefly2442 0
Go START >> RUN, then type cmd at prompt, navigate to the folder where the .exe is located and delete it here are the commands you will need... http://www.colorado.edu/geography/gcraft/tips/doshelp.html

NurFACE 0
Crim, Are you able to get to the path of exe files. You may be able to open edit then remove the file contents. The link has another link after the post that may help. What exe are you trying to get rid? You can pm me or hop on icq or msn messenger to get this fixed for you. icq=43261957 msn=mwilliams35@ec.rr.com
blistr 0
Ok, I got into Safe Mode by using msconfig, and still couldnt delete the file. Is there a program of some sort that deletes crap like this? I had the same problem with a few files a while ago... Drove me crazy for about a month. Couldn't delete the files, couldn't move them, couldn't do anything with them. Whatever I tried, Windows kept saying that the files were in use by another program and could not be moved/deleted/etc. Funny thing was, the only processes running were those required to run Windows. Eventually I tried Wipe Info, a program by Symantec that came with Norton System Works 2002 that "wipes" data from your HDD, and BINGO, problem solved... Files deleted. Hope this helps blistr
