Ruin 17
I'm attepmting to gather up some cash before I go ahead and order parts for my computer. *crosses fingers* I've got oodles of stuff I'd love to sell and make some money for (my biggest beign an $800 card collection). My questions are these: How do I start? How reliable is it? What can a 15 year old with no bank account or any willingness to hand out a credit-card or bank-account number online do? Anyone want to buy some cards? ? What is their policy on *cough*legit*cough* software (I know, dumbarse question, but it's worth a shot)?
Stinger 0
I know most people use PayPal, and IIRC u need some credit card info for that. And we dont have cc's But...if you require Money orders to be payed or a check, then yes you can still do it. I dont see how you would have any probs...
Major Maximum 0
well, Ruin I don't know If you can do this but when I do ebay stuff I just find the item then have my dad bid on it(because he has a CC) and then I re-pay him with cash.

Same here, but it you were selling stuff, and your dad said no to credit cards then u go with Check or Money Order
Xian Saint 0
Mrs XS is a huge Ebayer...and there is money to be made there...she does it as a part time job...from time to time... You may run into problems being young...so the trick will be to a)have a parent sign up for you b)have someone you know and trust do it...(as in...you have someone list and sell the item...then you send it out...then they give you the money...make sure its someone you trust though)
Ruin 17
So is there a way for me to sign up without use of a CC? Is it necessary? I'm sure there is $$ to be made, but Ihave to sign up first. I may need to talk to my grandparents, IIRC they have an account... I dunno, but I'd prefer to be able to do this on my own. Stinger 0
I am 99% sure not. Cause the only time you would use a credit card number is for PayPal or Billpoint, and since you would be selling you dont have to use those. Now to there are 4 main ways to get money or send money on ebay: Money Order Billpoint (CC Required) Paypal (CC Required) Check Now if you were to sell, you would just have people pay you buy Money Order or check, that way you wouldn't need a credit card. But if you were goint to buy, you could only buy from auctions that allow you to pay via Money Order or Check.
Ruin 17
Good. Now I saw somewhere though that there was a charge from Ebay for using their services. Anyone know what this is about? How it's figured? And how I pay them?
Stinger 0
http://pages.ebay.com/education/tutorial/c.../selling_1.html Fees There are three types of fees charged when selling on eBay: Insertion Fee — A non-refundable fee will be charged to your account when you list your item on eBay. This fee varies by the type of listing you choose and the starting bid on your listing but will generally range between $0.30 and $3.30. Additional Option Fee — This fee is charged when you choose one or more of the optional seller features, such as having your listing appear as a featured listing on eBay's homepage. Final Value Fee — You will be charged this fee at the end of the listing based upon the final sale price (final value) of your item. This fee is only applicable if the listing closes successfully — that is, if there is a winning bidder declared — and it is generally a small percentage of the final value of the item. Stinger 0
Hmmm...that does make it sound like a credit card. They may let you pay them by money order though...
